Rules:
* I will for sure be keeping the winning entry, everyone else may keep theirs. (There is an unlikely chance I will keep others but if I do I will mention it when I announce winners and asked to be pmed about it to discuss a deal like choosing from any remaining rares and/or a set number of pets from my unsorted group and prize pool.)
* You can choose to have as many entries as possible or a cover for your entries.
* Take your time on the designing but try to remember the deadline if you plan to enter. Unfinished entries will not be counted but I will allow an extension if enough people ask at least 2 or 3 days before the deadline.
* You may enter as many times as you like before the deadline.
* I like to give and encourage artistic freedom but I'd like if you can follow the species preference for the contest!
* If you would rather use a different base please comment and link your entry here in the comments (Please have it on places that can be easily seen or accessed like DA). I would recommend using this base however so I do not have to comb through the thread for any entries I may or may not miss.
Design Likes:
- Species: I like fox/kitsune characters the most but also like canine characters (this base is close enough for vulpine and canine characters tbh). Hybrids are fine just let me know what the mix is Ex. Kitsune-canine or shark-fox.
- Color palette - I'm not too picky with colors however I would like if you didn't use any neon or intense colors as the base/large markings as those colors hurt my eyes. I do like natural and autumn-winter color themes.
- Base colors - Natural colors (browns, off black, off white, blondes, sandy, grays), red, warm orange. (Try not to use pure white or black though!). I don't mind if they're unnatural though tbh.
- Markings/Runes/tattoes - These are neat but I don't like too many/complicated ones or large area coverage.
- "Gender" - I like masculine and androgynous characters and mainly have those characters.
- Traits/mutations - Horns (smooth, ram, dragon, antlers, etc.), Heterochromia (two different colored eyes), Wings (feathered, detached floaty/chibi wings, bat wings, etc.), floof, Plush/patchwork. I'm not exactly too picky honestly.
- Items/Accessories - I don't really have anything in mind, I can always draw these myself as well so don't worry about it!
- Themes/marking ideas - Japanese spirits/yokai, Asian themes, steampunk, constellations, koi/goldfish, sharks, owls, autumn, winter, ocean, sailor/nautical, rain, nature, succulents.
Dislikes:
- Intense or Neon base color(s) - These colors hurts my eyes but if they're markings I might let it slide?
- Feminine designs - I'm not really great at upkeeping feminine looking or female characters my apologies ;; they're just harder for me to develop or connect to.
- no effort/super simple designs - ex. a brown canine with black spots or a solid gray character.
- Clashing colors - Ex. a blue character with orange markings, purple and yellow-gold, purple and green, etc.. it's okay if it's like a gray character with orange or blue rings/spots or stripes.
