Ivan considers himself the analytic type. He makes his decisions based on facts, percentages, possible results and statistics. Never based on feelings. He always puts his life lower than his mission. Means, if he needs to give his life for a successful mission, he would do so. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. A sentence he probably learned from a Vulcan. But he tries to live it. Well, he always tried.
Two animals from earth showed him the meaning of friendship. A feeling he never experienced that deep before. But they made him think over his whole life. He questions the way he used to live. He questions the sentence he built his existence on. He questions his missions and is done with his brother.
Sure, he can’t stop being analytic. He still sees percentages, statistics and facts in everything he plans. He’d also still give his life, but maybe only for those who mean something to him.
Don’t try to argue with Ivan. Seriously, his arguments are also always based on facts. Feelings come second, or with statistics. Its hard to see he is not completely cold. Ivan always tries to keep strangers what they are, strangers. He doesn’t like to get to know you better. He is afraid he might like you in a way and will have to leave again. He hates goodbyes with those he feels close to.

BackStory Or Adoptable Suggestions -
Ivan was born on a planet called Torya. He therefore is a so called Toryan. They come in all different shapes and sizes, for there is no "intelligent" life other than Toryans. There are plants though.
Ivan has one older brother called Ilja. They both got terran names, since their parentes love the history of earth. Ivan and Ilja both wanted to be sent on help missions, rather than keeping their own planet running, so they went to a school to earn a sphere all ten years. With these spheres, Toryans can open portals to different planets. Ivan owns 3 so far, while Ilja has 4 already.
The two brothers were sent on a mission, to save a planet from a meteorite, but the portal broke and left them on two different planets. Ivan came to earth, where he first had to find all his lost spheres. Of course he had some help. A cat called Luca and a dog called Veki didn't only help him, but also showed him the meaning of friendship. As Ivan returned to the planet he was ought to be, he found his brother being praised for saving everyone. Not even thinking about searching for Ivan.
This made the younger brother think over his whole life. Remembering Luca and Veki, who did everything to help him without even knowing him.

Explanation! -
So I tried out for this two characters on the DCAC (a character adoption agency), and only won one of them. Ever since, I try to replace the second, as I connected their storys. And this adopt you made here is simply perfect. I would only have to change small parts of the story to fit him in.

Personality! -
Just like his brother Ivan, Ilja also cares a lot for facts, percentages and statistics. He also bases most of his decissions on these, but he also tries to always decide what benefits him the most. Rescue a planet? Yeah, kind of makes you a hero right? Losing his brother? Makes, you gain all honour and makes you a tragic hero.
Its not that Ilja has no heart. He would grieve for his brother. In fact Ivan means a lot to Ilja, but the search for him would come after his celebrations and would make him even more popular. Still, he thought about him all the time.
As the older brother, Ilja had to show Ivan a lot. He though never wanted his little brother to be better at anything. As little Ivan was born, Ilja got really jealous. He wasnt the child in his parentes spotlight anymore. Well, that made him a little selfish.
In time he learned, that having a brother wasnt that bad though. He needed to protect the little one, what made him brave and often stand up for the smaller ones. He needed to find new games to play, what made him more creative. He gained a lot of skills with his little brother, and thats why he is thankful to have him.
Backstory -
I guess we learned a lot about their time together at Ivans BackStory, so let just get to Iljas part after they were seperated.
While Ivan started his adventures on earth, Ilja stranded on a merchant planet. People were gossiping about everything there. They even made bets about the meteorite, and when it would destroy the planet the brothers were meant to save. It was a short way from the merchant planet to the other one, so Ilja lost no time. His spheres didnt get lost. He seemed to be the more lucky one...
As Ilja and Ivan were known to be really clever, they were meant to make some last adjustments to the laser, that would destroy the meteorite. It was no problem for Ilja, to do so alone, but he normally never went anywhere without his brother. Still, he fixed the laser, destroyed the meteorite and got blessed by the habitants.
Seeing Ivan return made him kind of happy, but yet kind of sad. He still had his loved little brother, but Ivan changed a lot. Ilja still doesnt know if it will ever be the same again.

Suggestions -
What about different breeds of falcons, or owls? Maybe reptiles? Or sharks? Other fish? And Id really love to say dinosaurs here... So DINOSAURS! There you go. Maybe ancient eras?
