Hello There! I'm looking to get a species started, but I can't exactly decide on what I'm wanting to do! Because of this, I'm going to be holding this competition for a species design. I'm excited about this, and I'm sure there are a lot of you excited about having 100C$! So let's get started.
Contest Rules
1. You are allowed one species. quality over quantity.
2. Nursery Lines are always a plus.
3. You can be as creative as you like. You have no artistic limits.
4. You may look to the species I like for inspiration, but do not duplicate anyone else's work.
5. Species Lore will always give you a better chance at winning. You may right out all the lore first, if you like!
6. Covers are a must. Please use the "cover" layer as your cover.
7. Winner gets to be an artist and will get a custom!
8. The more "editable" layers you have, the better. (ex. Rare/uncommon/common traits)
9. I must be able to edit the work so that I can see the species!
10. Runner ups will be artists and will be given Rare pets!
11. Lock Alphas are optional, but improve your chances.
12. must include your signature on the lineart
13. This can end without a winner if I dont think there is an entry worth the 100C$.

FINAL RESULTS
Mantisbug - 5/10 I really like that you went with the canine idea and I love the detail that you put into it. However, I don't think that this particularly stands out too much. The reason I say this is because there are a lot of characters out there that looks similar to this, so I don't see a lot of people adopting something that looks like everyone else's adopts.
Forgot the Milk - Never finished
pupper.exe - 6/10 I love that you went with pandas! They are very popular right now and you used that. You also went into detail about their history, which is also a plus. What you also included was lines for both female and male Panda Pops, which was something I didn't see often. The only downside was I wasn't a huge fan of the design of this species, and I wanted something a bit more natural looking. On the other hand, you also came up with a species that is very unique!
stormbriger - 8/10 This looks like an adopt that I would want, and I love that you included shading and detail in the species itself. However, you didn't leave a lot of room for potential line edits (like horns, wings, etc) that artists may want to add to make the adopt look a bit more unique. You also went with canine adopt, which I think works because of how common they are, but saying that they also need to stand out design wise.

I don't believe I've seen an entry that I can comfortably award 100C$ too, however I will be giving out the rares as promised and smaller C$ prizes to those that finished their entries. Since I'm not giving the 100C$, you may do as you please with your species, which I believe is fair. I'll be giving out rares based on the above ratings <3
