Shadowpatch, a warrior of Hollowclan, and his nephew and apprentice Birchpaw out on a walk.

Shadowpatch is the son of Bluetail and Fallensun, a warrior of Hollowclan and a warrior of Peakclan. His sister is Ravenwing, the clan's medicine cat. Later in her life, Ravenwing became pregnant with the leader's kits, and gave birth to Birchkit. Instead of losing her medicine cat position, the leader pardoned her due to the fact that they were his and that there was no medicine cat apprentice at the time to take her place. Birchkit soon became Birchpaw, and Ravenwing asked Shadowpatch to be her son's mentor, even though he was getting rather old. This is their first day out in the territory right after Birchpaw's apprenticeship.
