In a post-apocalyptic world, the warrior cats have evolved to adapt to a new way of life. Twoleg conquering of most of the remaining wildlife has regressed, behind their lost legacies have been left ruins of a world all wish to forget. In the wake of chaos and fear, an order was forged.
Haven.
The order of Haven decreed that to survive the coming struggles and stand against the turmoil that the future would bring to ensure the future would not see another tragedy like the Forging of Haven, the warrior cats of the world would join forces into great imperial factions. These factions were risen in the image of the Great Ghost, a survivor of the tragedies and once the leader of the Nine Havens. Individuals within the Havens are often referred to by outsiders or others from other Havens by their Haven's number and their rank. The system is admittedly elitist favoring those of higher rank, an imperfect coalition in the ambitious and arrogant goal of grasping a flawless, perfect solution to the chaos and discord that befell the Clans before Haven arose. The Great Ghost has since passed on, leaving in their wake their clear wishes that in her absence the leaders of the individual factions come together to form a council rather than appointing a new ruler of their empire, since no single being could be trusted with the power the Great Ghost once had without the threat of corruption, which they claim to have been unable to be tainted by.

The First Haven is located at the center of the factions, its territory is mostly made up of sprawling fields
at the center of which is a large disc-shaped platform of marble home to the ruins that shelter the First Haven cats. At the center of these ruins is a gap in the marble disc where the Garden of Ghosts grows fruitfully.
The Council of Haven meet here often accompanied by fellow faction members every month to discuss and encourage good relations between one another.

The Second Haven is North of the first haven and its territory is partially made up of misty moors in its South and is mostly made up of rocky hills and mountains. The cats in the Second Haven take shelter in ruins within the mountains at the center of their territory, where the peaks of the mountains are topped with snow and ice.

The Third Haven is East of the first haven and its territory is made up of hills that meet the fields of the first haven covered in the trees of a sprawling orchard, dotted with deciduous trees. The cats of the Third Haven take shelter within a grove of ancient oak trees at the center of the orchard, surrounded by clusters of orange trees.

The Fourth Haven is West of the first haven and they have made a huge canyon their home, they take shelter in natural caves at the very bottom of the ravine, reached by careful travel along ledges all down the sides of the towering cliffs. It's an incredibly dangerous place, making the members of this faction hardy and calloused with no tolerance for weakness.

Artist Rules
All Haven designs and genetics should be realistic aside
XX from special event traits
There are special rules regarding mutations and line edits
XX that will be added here once we are more active
Event mutations and edits can only be used during their
XX respective events and when bred
You should produce a minimum of 4 adopts a month
XX if you produce less than 3 adopts a month you will
XX be temporarily demoted to guest artist
Guest artists cannot claim an aging, breeding, or custom
XX and can only make 3 cats a month over a term of 3 months
XX before they either become an official artist or end their term

Starters
You can only claim 3 Starters at a time, once you have
XX completed them you may claim 3 more
Starters may not have wildcat heritage, or extremely
XX complex genetics and designs
Contraband patterns: Rosette, Bengal, True Marble,
XX any line edits and mutations, torbies
If you fail to complete Starters on time three times in
XX a row you will be temporarily demoted
If you have been demoted for incomplete Starters before
XX and you fulfill demotion standards a second time, it will
XX be a permanent demotion
If you are given a Starter form that's artist could not
XX complete the design you are expected to prioritize it since
XX typically the applicant has been waiting for longer than
XX necessary

Backup
A back up artist takes over anything that is left incomplete
XX if the artist is unable to finish their work. They may either
XX be added to the file to complete it or start a new file
Regarding Breeding: You must use pre-rolled genetics
XX if the kittens have already been rolled, otherwise roll
Regarding Customs: Because customs are paid, you
XX will receive compensation/payment in form of a free custom
Regarding Starters: A late or incomplete Starter
XX should always be first priority over other back up artist
XX responsibilities
Regarding Growths: For every 3 Growths you may
XX request a free custom kitten for yourself

Breeding
A breeding should not take longer than two weeks to
XX complete, failure to meet this requirement 3 times will
XX result in temporary demotion, and if it happens 3 more
XX times, demotion will be permanent
Breedings should be accurate and realistic, for first generation
XX breedings requesting most possible variety, see the variety
XX rules
Typically you will be asked to grow the kittens from the
XX batches you design, if you are unable to contact a back up
XX artist to do it
Artists may only claim one breeding at a time
There are special rules for event traits and mutations when
XX breeding, which will be available to you upon request
XX should you run into one
You may do the genetic rolls and codes yourself or ask
XX someone else to but never make the genetic codes or
XX breeding rates public knowledge, it should be kept between
XX staff only

Customs
Artists can claim 2-4 customs a month, with 1 additional
XX mutation slot that has special rules you will be made aware
XX of once mutation orders are allowed (they currently are not)
Artist can charge a minimum of 80 C$ and a maximum of
XX 240 C$ for customs, this is to preserve value for now
Customs are considered 'base gen ones', meaning that their
XX genetic code will show all dominants as AA and all recessives
XX as aa, and will not have the "variety" option when breeding
XX due to no carrying

General Rules
Respect everyone around you!
COPPA members cannot participate in Haven
XX sorry guys, you'll have to wait until you're old enough :(
Do not whine or complain, be a good sport
Do not advertise or self promote nonHaven content publicly
Do not discuss other ARPGs on official Haven threads
All content must be CS appropriate
Drama is not to be brought up on public domain, discuss
XX any problems between players with Moderators
Always credit artists whose art you use, this includes the
XX Haven references and any ordered art
Any Discord Roleplay does not carry over as 'official
XX roleplay' and cannot be used for Ranking Tasks
Do not change Haven designs
Only artists will have access to the original images
Please keep official Haven lore in mind when writing or
XX drawing scenes, this includes roleplay

Starters
You can only ever have one Starter, you will not receive a
XX new one if you don't like the one you get
Quote your Request form to make any edits, do not repost
XX your form unedited. Edited forms must be in quotes
If you post for a Request Starter, you cannot try out for an
XX Adopt Starter, and vice versa
Do not harass artists or other staff out of impatience
If it has been a week since your Request Starter form
XX was claimed by an artist, you may inquire the artist about
XX their progress
If two weeks have passed since your form was claimed
XX contact a Haven moderator and they will place your request
XX with another artist at top priority
If you do not reach Rank B within a month of receiving your
XX Starter, it will be rehomed
Regarding the above rule, if you need more time do not hesitate
XX to ask! We understand that life is busy, and ranking is not meant
XX to be easy here.

Ownership and Bans
The character belongs to you, however the official artwork
XX and design belong to their respective artists
You may use a character outside of Haven but may not use
XX Haven official lore or content outside of Haven
You may use character designs outside of Haven but you
XX cannot use the official artwork outside of Haven unless to
XX order a reference for use outside the game
You only have permission to use your own cats outside of
XX Haven, do not use someone else's character without their
XX permission or plagiarize lore and development
If you wish to remove a character from the game, they will be
XX marked as deceased, please post in the Amendment thread
If you are banned from the site, your cats will be
XX rehomed within Haven
If you are banned from Haven, you cannot use the official
XX art or lore in any capacity and your cats will be marked
XX deceased, however you may continue to use the character
XX outside of Haven
If you are banned from Haven, under special circumstances
XX your cats may be confiscated and rehomed within Haven

Transfers, Sales, and Trades
Try coming back sometime later, this isn't implemented yet!!



Moderator Rules
Treat all members with respect and patience
Never let frustration or personal bias affect a situation
The moment your mood affects how you approach a
XX situation you will be demoted
If for any reason at any time you cannot do your duties,
XX please notify staff so another moderator may temporarily
XX take over, this includes if you simply need a rest!
Do not ever completely overtake another mod's responsibility,
XX if you see something they may have missed politely inform them
Always address others with the two methods of 'do unto
XX others what you would have them do unto you' and 'kill
XX with kindness'

Archive Moderators
Make sure the Archive is completely updated
A different Moderator will be responsible for each Haven and
XX different sections of the Havens, please keep focus on your own
At the end of every 2-week to 1-month period, check over
XX your archive and the Amendment thread with another mod
XX to be sure it is completely updated
Every time you fully update your section of the Archives, report
XX to a general mod so they know you have been keeping up
If you are not keeping up you may request help, if you don't
XX request help and fail to keep up you may be demoted after
XX two months without giving report of a full update

How to Play

Getting your starter.
Differently than you might have seen
before, Haven does not use "founders", since the
groupings are pre-established in this universe.
We call your first cat 'Starters' instead, because
they are a Start to your great adventure!

There are two ways to get a Starter:
Request your Starter, or adopt one

Keep it short and sweet! Starters are meant
to be simple in design

the Artist's Rules
Gender should be as determined at birth.

If your Starter is taking a while, see section

If your form was not claimed, please check
that you filled it out properly
Quote forms if you wish to edit them. So
your form doesn't go overlooked!
Starters can have scars, but they should be of
medium size (taking up less than 1/5th of the design)

Adopting Your Starter
Starter Adopts will have specially hosted
contests, meant for only new players to
compete, because of the special rules
Starters have to be made with.

Starter adopt contests will be clearly labelled
among the other adopts
You cannot enter a non-Starter contest to be
your Starter
Make sure to fill out the contest requirements
completely and adequately

Prestige
This feature isn't implemented just yet!
It will be introduced when players reach the
higher ranks.

What is prestige?
When you make it to Rank Z, you can ask for an
additional task called a "Prestige Quest", it will
usually be personalized to the characters you
own or past tasks you've done and thus relates
to relevant information about your characters.

When you complete this task, a whole new set
of rank tasks will be opened to you. Your
Prestige Rank will be displayed after your Player
Rank. ie, A1, E2, L3 and so on. Each Prestige has
its own benefits. The Benefit of Prestige 1 is that
Passive tasks no longer apply to you. You may
instead get more, harder, or timed tasks.

Tracking your progress.
In order to keep everything where archivists can find it, you're required
to keep a thread on Chickensmoothie that lists all your cats and includes all
their information.

You must track your cats on Chickensmoothie
It's suggested that you list each cat in a
separate post on your thread, for ease
Include the tag [Haven] at the start of the
tracking thread's title
Any information and rank-up material not
contained within a cat's post should be linked
directly within the cat's post
Link back to the original thread in your
tracking thread
Make sure your Player Rank is clearly displayed
on the thread
You start out the game at Rank A
Please keep your tracking thread up to date,
and remember to post in the archive when
appropriate changes are made
Once your tracking thread is made, and you
have gotten your Starter, go post on the
archive thread to have your tracking thread
and character registered

Player Ranks and Ranking Up
In this ARPG, we have a Player Rank system that determines your progress within
the group and your limitations. This works using a combination of "active tasks"
and "passive tasks". Passive tasks are tasks you're expected to keep up with and
that will prevent you from ranking up if incomplete even if the active tasks for
your rank are complete.

You own the maximum number of cats allowed
by your current rank
All cats you own have a written personality of
at least 100 words
All cats you own have a written history of at
least 250 words
All cats you own have at least one written piece
of 200+ words or one art piece that is at least
a fullbody flat-colored with a partial background

Ranks J-R
You own the maximum number of cats allowed
by your current rank
All cats you own have a written personality of
at least 250 words
All cats you own have a written history of at
least 500 words
All cats you own have at least one written piece
of 200+ words or one art piece that is at least
a fullbody flat-colored with a partial background

Ranks S-Z
You own the maximum number of cats allowed
by your current rank
All cats you own have a written personality of
at least 500 words
All cats you own have a written history of at
least 1,000 words
All cats you own have at least one written piece
of 200+ words or one art piece that is at least
a fullbody flat-colored with a partial background

Rank A -- 1 cat
Get your Starter
Create a tracking thread
Write about where your Starter feels most at
home in 150 words or more

Rank B -- 3 cats
Write about how how one of your characters
met another character in 150 words or more

Rank C -- 6 cats
Describe what one of your characters thinks
of their Haven in 150 words or more

Rank D -- 10 cats
Have a roleplay between one of your characters
and someone else's within the same Haven
that shows what kind of relationship they have
in 10 posts (5 each) or more

Rank E -- 15
Describe two of your characters' relationship
with one another in 250 words or more

Rank F -- 20
Draw a scene between two of your characters
or one of your characters and another character
in the same Haven, at least one fullbody, flat-
colored and partial background

Rank G -- 25
Draw a headshot of one of your characters
Describe one of your characters' reputation in
250 words or more

Rank H -- 30
Write a scene of one of your characters at a
Haven council meeting of 250 words or more,
or draw the same scene with at least one full
body, flatcolored, with a partial background
Have a roleplay between two or more players
of at least 20 posts, double posts aren't counted

Rank I -- 35
Describe or draw what one of your characters
do for fun
Make at least 10 nonconsecutive posts with one
character in an official roleplay event

FAQ

What is Haven?
Haven is an ARPG dedicated to art, character development, and cat genetics.
Here, we design realistic cats to live within a unique post-apocalyptic future universe.

Can I have cats in multiple Havens?
Right now? No. Currently, 1st Haven is the only one that will be accepting new cats, until we reach a certain number of characters that I can start the very first Official RP Event, once that happens, 2nd Haven will be opened as well. Each Haven will be opened to players once the previous has gained enough characters to be a true presence within the community.
