Hi there c:
So I've had a dream of finally drawing my species: The Estonian Claipith
About the Species:
As the name suggests, Estonian Claipiths are extremely heavy-set, tall draft horses living up around the coast near Tallinn. Claipiths can grow as large as 20 hands and as small as 13 hands. They typically weight around 2800lbs or 1270kg. They have sturdy, thick legs usually with some longer fur around the knee to keep the joints warm. Their manes are usually very long, wavy, and water-resistant with long forelocks. Native Claipith owners love to braid the long manes with intricate flower designs during shows-- even the tails are braided. The coloring of Claipiths is usually very light ranging from white to dun being the darkest. Brown and black horses are very rare and undesirable amongst the breed for survival reasons. Dark-colored horses are very desirable amongst breeders however as they can be sold for high amounts of money and often are a sign of wealth among Claipith enthusiasts. The hair around the hooves can get very heavy and is often trimmed short by Claipith owners as they can cause drag in the snow.
Although Claipiths are usually very light colored, that does not stop them from having a variety of dark patterns. The most common patterns amongst light-colored Claipiths include fleabitten, piebald, and sabino but there is no limit to the type of markings a Claipith may have. Dark-colored Claipiths usually have some variation of piebald, overo, or blanket, but, like light-colored Claipiths, there is a large amount of variance.
