Honestly the expressions in these are weak I'm just practicing my characters faces, these guys especially Xavier are hard to draw, and I'm having a lot of consistency issues

Yes I do! firstly look at real life faces, pay attention to what wrinkles shrinks expands and moves in the face
Secondly all of the face should do it's part, you don't just simply frown, your brows furrow, your eyes upturn and shrink, your nose sometimes wrinkles,

It's good to use the stretch and squish technique, (I made this a while ago to show someone else) which is to contract and pull the face to really exaggerate the expression.
Really a lot of it is in the eyes and eyebrows, and think about how the mouth moves the face and such, and of course practice is the key! Pm if you have any further questions or want more details c:
