Hello! Thank you so much for stopping by! You might be wondering what the PPAA is.
The PPAA (or Double P Double A) is an adoption center focused on adopting out cats!
There are a number of ways you can get your paws on some of our cats.
You can adopt from our selection of cats for sale. Adoption fees range from 1 to 5 C$.
You can breed two cats together to get a litter. Breeding fees range from 1 to 5 C$.
You can request for a particular cat via customs. Basic custom fees range from 1 to 5 CS.
You can also go Treasure Hunting and try your luck at finding a stray cat!
Hunting also allows you the chance to find various items and Breeding or Custom Tokens!

GUIDELINES

♥--Do not steal any graphics used in this thread. Members will be reported if caught stealing.

♥--Do not steal any PPAA cats already owned by someone else. Members will be reported if caught stealing.

♥--Members should not whine if they did not get the cat they wanted. There are numerous ways to get cats!

♥--Members should not whine if there aren't any new cats available. The artist might just be busy.

♥--Cats from PPAA can have any gender identity or sexual preference, which is decided by whoever owns them.

♥--The lines and designs should always be credited to rainbowpanda101.

GENERAL

♥--Please respect everyone. Do not be rude to anyone, especially PPAA staff members.

♥--Do not spam. Take any chats to PM. Saying "mark" on the thread is allowed, of course.

♥--Do not mini-mod. Let the staff handle any misbehavior or answer any questions posted.

♥--Do not beg or try to bribe the staff for any reason. No one will get special privileges that way.

♥--Do not double post. Members should edit their last post if they need to. Put "EDIT" and add whatever new info is needed.

ADOPTION, TRADING & GIFTING

♥--Members can own an unlimited number of PPAA cats but should allow others to adopt if they have quite a few already.

♥--Members can trade, sell, or gift away any of the cats they have purchased from the PPAA. There are no restrictions on this.

♥--Members can advertise they are selling or trading cats once per page in the main thread.

♥--Do not beg others for gifts or anything else. If someone is not taking no for an answer, contact CS staff as needed.

PAYMENT

♥--NEVER send a payment for anything PPAA-related until rainbowpanda101 tells you to!

♥--Payments for breedings and customs MUST be sent, ready to accept, before rainbowpanda101 will begin working.

♥--Payments for breedings and customs will never be accepted until AFTER the litter or customs are finished.

BREEDING

♥--Only cats designed by rainbowpanda101 on Cerulean Wake's lineart or the new lineart will be accepted for breedings.

♥--There is no restriction on gender during breeding. Any cats may breed, as long as they are not closely related.

♥--There is no restriction on how many times PPAA cats can breed.

♥--Members may request up to 2 breeding per breeding opening.

♥--When requesting a breeding, the cats must be owned by the member(s) requesting the breeding.

__- The only time this doesn't apply is if a member is breeding with a Tom or Queen from the Breeding section.

♥--Members may advertise they have cats open for breeding once per page of the nursery thread.

♥--Please take all breeding partner discussions to PM. Discussing it in the thread would be spam.

♥--Partners that are breeding together must BOTH post the breeding form in order to get a slot.

♥--Partners may split the cost of breeding. Discussion on who pays what must be done over PM.

__- If partners want 2 kittens, they get a discount and only have to pay 1 C$ each.

♥--Partners must discuss via private message what will happen to the kittens produced from their breedings.

__- Once a decision is reached, both partners must post on the threads of their kittens to announce the fate of their kittens.

CUSTOMS

♥--Customs will be created on the lineart by rainbowpanda101. No other linearts will be used.

♥--Members may request up to 3 customs per custom opening.

♥--If a cat photo is provided, a design will be made loosely off of it. Photos will NOT be directly copied.

♥--There is no restriction on how many custom PPAA cats a person can own.

TREASURE HUNTING

♥--Members may only post to go hunting once per day while Treasure Hunting is open.

♥--Members should not whine if they do not find anything when hunting. Hunting is based on luck. Just keep trying!

♥--Any items or Tokens found during hunting will be placed in the Treasury.

♥--Random items can be exchanged for Tokens at any time. See the Treasury for the exchange rate.

STRIKES & BANS

Double P Double A has a 3 strikes policy. Members get 3 chances before being banned.
Strikes will have a time period. After a certain date, a strike will be removed.
However, if a member reaches three strikes before any of the strikes are removed, they will be banned.
If a member is banned for getting three strikes, they will be banned from PPAA for a minimum of 3 months.
Strikes are for minor rule breaking. Stealing or other large rule breaking will get members banned forever.

Go HERE if you would like to breed!

There are 3 ways you can go about getting a breeding.

1) If you own 2 cats already, you can breed them together.

2) If you own 1 or no cats at all, you can use the pre-made Toms and Queens found in the Nursery thread.

3) You can partner up with another cat owner to breed your cats together.

PRICES

You can get 1 to 3 kittens per breeding.
Cost depends on how many kittens you want.

1 Kitten = 1 C$
2 Kittens = 3 C$
3 Kittens = 5 C$

*SPECIAL NOTE*
Partners who are getting 2 kittens may get a discount!
That means they can split the cost of the breeding and each pay 1 C$.
This discount is only applicable if partners are getting 2 kittens.


GENETICS

All cats adopted through the PPAA have semi-realistic designs based on real cat colors and patterns.
When 2 cats are bred, a coat calculator is used to determine what their kittens can look like.
Then a random # generator is used to determine what color/pattern/etc a kitten "inherits" from the parents.
This means that you may end up with cats that look like one of the parents or neither parent.
All litters will have a Genetic Info section that details the possible colors/patterns for the kittens.
All PPAA cats also come with a Pedigree that shows what other cats they are related to!

Certain cats have coat patterns that are NOT available in the coat calculator being used.
In that case, a pattern available in the calculator will be used as a substitute for that pattern.
For example, Bengals are not in the calculator so they are substituted as spotted tabby instead.


TOMS & QUEENS

If you don't have any cats yet or have only 1 cat, you can use the cats located in the Nursery!
When filling out a form, just put "Tom" or "Queen" and the name of the Tom or Queen you want to use.
More Toms and Queens will be added over time, and some may be retired after being used too many times.


BREEDING TOKENS

Breeding Tokens can only be used in the Nursery when the Nursery is open.

PET EXCHANGE

Don't have C$? Well, you're in luck! You can exchange CS pets for C$ to spend on anything in the PPAA!
However, only certain pets will be accepted. Please see the guidelines below for what is accepted.
All C$ you receive from exchanging pets will be put into the Treasury for you to spend.
Pet exchanges are non-refundable so make sure you are 100% certain before sending in a pet for C$.

PET TO C$ GUIDELINES

• Only pets that are Rare, Very Rare, or OMG So Rare from 2008 - 2013 will be accepted.
  Any trades offering pets that do not meet this requirement will be canceled or edited.
  
  
• All acceptable pets will be valued in C$ as shown in this thread.
  
  
• Rares are valued at the low end of a range, while Very Rares from are valued at the high end.
  This is applicable only to Rares and Very Rares that came out between 2008 and 2010.
  For example, if the value of a pet is listed as 40 - 45 C$, a Rare would be 40 and a Very Rare would be 45.
  
  
• Rare or Very Rare rats from 2008 to 2010 will be valued at half of the value listed in this thread.
  For example, if the value is listed as 40 - 45 C$, a Rare rat would be 20 C$ and a Very Rare would be 23 C$.
  
  
• Rares from 2011, 2012, and 2013 will be valued depending on the popularity of the pet species.
  Less popular Rare pet species from 2011 - 2013 will be valued on the low end of the range.
  Less popular species include bats, fish, bunnies, chameleons, chickens, deer, horses, hamsters, fennec foxes,
  guinea pigs, monkeys, ponies, rats, and spiders.
  Popular Rare pet species from 2011 - 2013 will be valued on the high end of the range.
  Popular species include butterfly wolves, cats, dogs, dragons, lions, Malk pets, Nick pets, owls, squids, Tess pets,
  trees, unicorns, and zebras.
  Please do not try to argue over what pet is popular or less popular. This list is based on personal preference.

Q: Can I be an artist/moderator/co-owner/etc?
A: Playful Paws Adoption Agency is not looking for artists or co-owners right now. Moderator positions may open soon!

Q: How do I get a PPAA cat?
A: There are several ways to get a cat from the PPAA! Adoptable cats are available for a small fee as regularly as possible. The fee ranges between 1 and 5 C$ depending on the complexity of the cat's design. Simply find an available cat that you like and be the first to post the purchase form on its thread, send the C$ when you are told to, and the cat is yours!

Auctions and raffles are another way to achieve PPAA cats. Auction cats will have a starting bid between 1 and 5 C$, with a 1 C$ increase per bid, and an autobuy option of 20 C$. Auctions will take place anywhere from a few days up to a week, unless the autobuy option is chosen by one of the bidders. Whoever has the highest bid at the end wins the cat. Raffle cats are free to enter for and will take place anywhere from a few days up to a week. Once the end date is reached, a random number generator is used to choose the winner of the cat from the pool of people who entered.

PPAA cats are also obtainable through breeding and customs. If you don't have any PPAA cats of your own to breed, you can request a breeding between a Tom and Queen found in the Nursery. Breeding also costs C$ and the amount depends on how many kittens you want. One kitten costs 1 C$, two kittens cost 3 CS, and 3 kittens cost 5 C$. You can also request custom PPAA cats, which cost anywhere from 1 to 5 C$ not including additional fees for lineart edits.

PPAA cats can also be found during Treasure Hunting. If you do not own any PPAA cats to use as your Companion during Hunting, you can use any of the Toms or Queens listed in the Nursery. Simply put Tom or Queen, with the name of the Tom or Queen you want to use, where it says Companion in the Treasure Hunting form!

Some members who already own PPAA cats may also be willing to trade or gift their cats to others. However, you should never approach another member about trades or gifts unless you see that the member has posted in the fanclub saying they are trading or giving away their cats!

Q: Do I have to use my cats in the PPAA?
A: Nope! Once you purchase a cat through the PPAA, you have no obligations to participate in anything else PPAA-related. Feel free to take your cats and go breed them yourself. Use them as original characters in whatever way you want. So long as you're giving proper credit to rainbowpanda101 for the art and/or design, all is good!

Q: What if I don't want to pay with C$? Can I pay with pets instead?
A: If you do not want to pay for adoptable cats, breeding, or customs with C$, certain pets will be accepted in exchange for C$ according to THIS thread. Once a pet is exchanged for C$, the amount of C$ will go into your Treasury account. From there, you can spend it however you'd like. All pet exchanges are non-refundable, so please make sure you are 100% certain you want to exchange your pets. Please see the Treasury section for more details.

Q: How often can we adopt? How many can we adopt?
A: There's no limit to how often you adopt from the PPPA or how many cats you can own in total. Though, if you have quite a few PPAA cats in your possession, please be nice and let others have a chance to get some!

Q: Can I trade or gift my PPAA cats to other members?
A: Yes! Members can trade, sell, or gift away any of the cats purchased from the PPAA. There are no restrictions, either. Trade your cats for other cats or other characters/designs. Sell your cats for C$ or pets. Do whatever you'd like with them! Members are also welcome to advertise here in the main thread whether they're wanting to sell or trade any of their cats. But please only advertise once per page!

Q: Can I trade or gift my PPAA items or Tokens to other members?
A: Item trading and gifting is not available at this time. If enough interest is shown for this, it will be added in the future.

Q: Can we breed our PPAA cats?
A: Yes! Members can request up to 2 breedings each time that breeding opens. The cost of breeding depends on how many kittens you want. One kitten costs 1 C$, two kittens cost 3 CS, and 3 kittens cost 5 C$. Small edits like changing the ear shape or adding an expression costs 1 C$, while larger edits like accessories or body edits costs 2 C$.

Q: What is Treasure Hunting?
A: Treasure Hunting is an exploration game that members can participate in to try and find items or even cats! When Treasure Hunting is open, you can post once per day to go "hunting" to try and find something. Each time you go hunting, you have a 50/50 chance of finding something or not. Please see the Treasure Hunting section for more details.

Q: What exactly is the Playful Paws Competition Center?
A: The PPCC is a thread where members of the PPAA can enter their cats into competitions in order to try and win prizes. The prizes consist of Catnip, which is exchanged into C$ and put into the Treasury; Trophies; Sashes; and Ribbons. The Trophies, Sashes, and Ribbons can only be placed on the cats that won them. For example, if a member has one cat that won a Second Place Trophy that Trophy can only be put on the cat that won it – not any of the other cats owned by that member.

Q: Is there a fanclub? Can I make a fanclub?
A: There is no fanclub at this time. If enough interest is shown in PPAA, then rainbowpanda101 will create a fanclub for members to use. Please do not create a fanclub for PPAA in the meantime.

Q: I have a question that I don't want to ask in public. What should I do?
A: If you have a question related to Playful Paws Adoption Agency that you would rather not post publicly in the thread, you are welcome to private message rainbowpanda101 at any time. Her PMs are always open, and she checks them quite often so you will probably get a response within 1 to 3 days. However, if you do not get a response within 3 days, send your message again. Sometimes her inbox gets messy, so just keep trying until you get a response.
