this is sahara, a character I've had for a long, long time.
he means a lot to me and was originally created by a
cs user on june 21st 2011, making him a total of six
years old! he has been my fursona for so long, but I'd
never gotten around to really doing anything with him
as I couldn't really afford art
years have passed and now I offer this redesigned version
of him! just little changes, like spots and colours, but
still the same sahara I've always had! he still wears the
feather to signify his rank as leader but I didn't want to
attempt drawing it
he has come a long way and I intend on reaching
even higher places with him in the form of suiting,
and I'm extremely excited for what's to come!

BACKSTORY.
sahara was born into a tribe know as they who watch the stars. this tribe is blessed with longer lifespans ranging 100-170 years, nearly perfect memory of the stars above, and exceptional navigation skills; even the youngest of members has incredible knowledge.
his father was the leader, and sahara was one of four from his mother. he grew up with a sort of noble status although such things were not considered too important. he was the eldest, therefore first in line to become the next leader. his tribe are stargazers, determining the best times for hunts and mating, along with things like weather, prey movement, and how to get home.
members of his tribe wear feathers to signify rank; smaller & larger quantities of feather = lower rank. sahara wears one as he is the leader. the bands around his ankles are also a symbol of status and have been passed down through his tribe for generations;
whoever follows after him will receive them as well. his necklace is a gift from his ancestors to guide him through his position and stargazing, offering a chance to communicate with his ancestors via constellations and other meeting places. currently, sahara is six years old.
