What are Zodiac Dragons?

Zodiac dragons are wolf-dragon hybrids that possess magic. They're said to be descendants of the original zodiacs who were pure dragons. Each zodiac has a house (zodiac sign), and all zodiac dragons belong to a house. You can identify which house they are in by their pendant they wear which displays their house's symbol. Zodiac dragons are mostly wolf, with dragon tails and intelligence. They also get their feathers from their dragon ancestors. Each dragon's magic relates to what house they are in, with their feathers almost always matching the color of their magic. Common dragons have base elemental magic from their house; fire, water, air or earth. Some dragons possess two types of magic but these are extremely rare.

Artist Rules

Batches must include in their description:
- Labelled links to parents.
- The owner, name, and gender the same as regular adoptions.
- Mutations that the offspring has.

Nursery artists are required to perform mutation rolls fairly.
Artists are required to do the growths for the batches they do.
While artists may do their own batches, rolls are still required to be performed fairly.
Artists must make a cover and do their breedings under it. In your cover description, you may include slots and standard forms.

Rules

♦ Zodiac dragons may be co-owned, but please pick an owner to go down on the archives.
♦ Pairs must be of the opposite sex to breed.

Breeding Submissions

♦ You may only be involved in two batches per month. This includes if the submission is posted by the owner of your dragon's partner.
♦ You may not post a submission past the 20th of any given month unless stated otherwise. This is to give artists time to catch up. A member of staff will post when we are not accepting any more submissions, and again when we re-open.
♦ Any post other than a submission (staff excluded) will be counted as spam and will earn you one strike.
♦ Do not contact staff about the completion of your batch if your submission is under 30 days old. Exceptions will be made if you are talking about changes made to your form. Do not contact staff asking when your batch will be done.

Time Limits

♦ A dragon must be owned for 30 days before you can breed it.
♦ A dragon cannot transfer ownership for 30 days after breeding.
♦ After breeding, a dragon must wait 14 days before breeding again.

FAQ For Artists

How do mutation rolls work?
Use this website to perform a mutation roll. For a dragon to get the mutation, the roll must land between 0 and the given percentage for the trait.

What is the inheritance percentage?
This percentage is used when the trait is possessed by the parent.

What is the chance percentage?
This percentage is used when the trait is possessed by the grandparent.

Which do I use if the trait is possessed by the parents and the grandparents?
Only use the inheritance percentage. Ignore the chance percentage in this situation.

What if both partners in the generation possess the trait?
The likeliness of a mutation being directly inherited is individual, not collective. If both parents had the folded ears trait - which is 50% inheritance - do not add them together to make 100%. Still use the percentage given.

♦ Any potions must be submitted in your nursery form.
♦ The only potion that can be applied later is the PPS potion. However, it must be applied when the dragon is a hatchling.
♦ If you do not own both parents, you must provide proof of permission for the potions used.

Shop Rules

♦ Send all payment for potions to the artist who's making your batch.
♦ A maximum of five potions may be applied to a single batch.
♦ Growth potions are compatible with all other potions.
♦ Potions cannot contradict each other (e.g. using both a PPS potion and a growth potion on the same hatchling).
♦ Do not use "if...then" statements (e.g. "if this trait is not passed down then I would like to purchase x potion").
♦ Free growth potion: If you have waited for over 30 days for your submission to be completed, you are eligible to a free growth on the batch in question. This cannot be applied to any other batch.
