Number 50! This Python dog has 4 nostrils, making them an element python dog; this is Carbon (based on dry ice mostly tho)
They take on the form of dry ice making them wispy/gaseous, they only really solid if in extreme cold temperatures and aren't the best in heat or low pressure areas. If put in those situations they may quite literally melt or combust, leaving bones until put in better conditions. They have also been known to be able to thrive under water, and have an extremely low body temp but not enough to keep their form stable. Their pupils also have no defined shape; it's pretty fluid but remains the color white and their eyes glow often. They have been observed to float or jump high, meaning they are extremely light. They also have a cloudy halo above their head!

never thought I'd see 50+ python dogs roaming my gallery, but honestly I'm happy for this species since its doing well!!

"Oh, hello. I'm afraid we may not have met before. My name is Carbon, but a few of my colleagues and family members jokingly refer to me as the 'whale whisperer'. I work on the research ship 'Arctic Helix' studying the feeding, behavior, and population of cetaceans native to the Arctic circle area, as well as cetaceans who migrate to the circle for part of the year. It's quite incredible to witness the true intelligence and personalities of these beasts firsthand, especially when participating in dives with them. Unlike my fellow researchers, I don't mind the cold here. My own body temperature is much lower than average, so I find myself quite comfortable without the thick coats and drysuits they implement during outside and undersea work. I'm afraid those articles would be unable to contain my form anyhow, due to the fact that my body is actually very unstable and rarely takes a proper 'solid' form."

The python dog pauses and looks over at you, noticing the fact that you're shivering.

"Where are my manners? I'm sorry, you should come into the cabin." Carbon ushers you into the warmth of the ship's main cabin, "Would you like a cup of tea? We have earl grey, english breakfast, chamomile.." The python dog trailed off, noticing the slight frown on your face, "Hot chocolate it is, then. No one on this ship appreciates tea as much as they should." He lets out a heavy sigh as he mixes the cocoa and brings it to the the table. You ask why he's so upset about the tea thing in between sips of your drink, and this time he is the one to frown. "Well, tea is admittedly my favorite hot drink. The others call it 'stale leaf water', but I just do my best to ignore them." The researcher walks back to the drink selection and begins to make himself a cup of chamomile tea before returning to sit with you, muttering something about his coworkers being imbeciles. You stare at him like he's crazy, and he just responds with a short, "What? I'm right."

Younger Years
Carbon has spend nearly his entire life out on boats. He was born on a boat and raised along the coast by his parents, who worked as fishermen. As a youngster, the python dog would often hang halfway over the boat's railing and stare into the water, hoping to see some kind of creature. Much of the time little Carbon wouldn't see much aside from the murk and deep blue of the salty water below, but every now and then a pod of dolphins would hang out around the boat and play in the waves it produced. Carbon was absolutely fascinated by the beautiful creatures, and adored every moment he had with them. Dolphins were the things that sparked an interest in marine science in him and he would spend hours reading about them or drawing them in his notebook while making comments on their behavior. When he was a child, Carbon was actually homeschooled and didn't get much contact with other kids, so he never got much of a chance to develop social skills. This issue has unfortunately stuck with him into adulthood, but he hides it while he's at work.

Carbon earned his interesting nickname in his teenage years. His family and the other fishermen on the boat noticed that the teen had begun to mimic the whale calls he'd hear via a homemade underwater microphone. After a few weeks of keeping an eye on him, everyone began to notice a bit of an increase in the cetacean activity near the boat whenever Carbon was around. This turned out to be because Carbon had recorded his imitation calls and was broadcasting them into the ocean. The young python dog was apparently excellent at mimicry and had managed to fool some of the massive beasts into believing he was another whale.

Once he graduated high school, Carbon got into a great marine biology program at the local university. He had some trouble at first, finding some of the classes were testing his knowledge to the limit. Carbon hadn't intended to study when he'd started, but he quickly found himself devouring textbook after textbook on the subject and participating in research trips over the summer. During these research trips he would turn into a very attentive individual who would ask a massive amount of questions. It was on one of these trips in his final year of college when he decided to go into the study of cetaceans full time. He had gone out on a vessel into the waters surrounding Hawaii and gotten to study the behavior of humpback whales during their breeding season and watch the cows interact with their calves. He actually got the chance to snorkel near a newly-born calf and its dam, holding a recorder to collect the communication between the pair. Carbon spent the next few weeks after the trip analyzing and comparing all of the sounds that had been recorded, then wrote his final essay on the methods of communication between whales. Specifically the communication that went on between cows and their calves. The essay helped him land a job quite soon after he graduated, and he kept moving up from there.

Personality: A trait that everyone that everyone has noticed about carbon is that he drifts a lot. He daydreams about adventures that may only stay just a dream. When he is down to earth he is confrontational and socializing with all types of species. Carbon is also a tiny bit bipolar, happy one minute and miserable the next-- but he thinks that it makes life all that better, he says that it's like "I'm on a rollercoaster.. it's exciting!"

Simon is petty much the nerdy one of the bunch. They have the periodic table memorized and day dreams about different chemical reactions and possibilities. Loves math and science and thinks history is a waist of time. Simon also loves dad jokes and making horrible science puns but only periodically. Their told they can be pretty ice-olated at times. Simon loves pick up lines and loves to "flirt", but never actually feels anything for anyone they "flirt" with. "Are you full of beryllium gold and titanium? Because you are Be-Au-Ti-full. (;"
All jokes aside, Simon's a pretty chill dude, when they want to be that is. Their a total goofball and love to make their
friends laugh, even if his jokes make no sense to most of them. Simon also loves to experiment, like a lot, even if it tends
to almost kill them. Multiple times. When ever their friends come over for a stay, they like to joke about how cold it is by
saying things like "Man, it's so cold where you live, i'm going to have to sleep in the freezer just to stay worm." Ironically,
Simon does not like this joke. -.-
