Ugh... I always have trouble with dapples. Anyone have any tips and trick or, am I just not doing it right?

Anyways, might make this guy/girl into a char or somethin...

For dapple I usually put them on a separate layer. I use the airbrush on a high opacity with a little bit of scattering and spacing but not too high to where the dapples are all over the place and unorganized. I start with a dapple pen size 4-6 and place them next to each other but spread out like a giraffes spots or a dry dessert. I then lower the opacity of the dapples layer and earse some dapples. You don't have to though. It depends on what kind of dappled horse you are looking for since there are many.
