What is a Vela?
Singular; Vela | Plural; Velas | Collective; Squad
A Vela is a creature from the planet Toranira from the Meta Seginus system, located in the outskirts of the Andromeda galaxy. They mostly live on the continent Edala, though they can - and do - exist on all continents of that planet. They can eat almost anything organic, as well as most inorganic things. Velas come in all sorts of colors and patterns, from powder blues to dull browns. They have a long lifespan, upwards of 1,000 years - they may very well be immortal, as they can survive temperatures far beyond where a human would either instantly freeze or boil. Velas are also quite intelligent, having created FTL space travel and quickly being able to learn new languages to communicate with other species. They are usually around 9'6" tall when on four legs, although some of them stop growing as children, stopping at about 4'8". A squad of Velas is usually made up of around 9 or 10 Velas. A squad is essentially a 'social group' for Velas - they do socialize with Velas of other squads, but more so with members of theirs.
Rules

- You may gift your Velas, but please own them at least a week before gifting
- Please show respect to mods and artists
- Please do not spam the thread ^u^' Posting to mark is okay, but don't post just to advertise your own species or something like that.
- If you'd like to affiliate, PM me.
- PM Azure Ember or Junebug. if you'd like to readopt a Vela.
- Do not steal people's Velas!
- If you are permanently banned, your Velas will be readopted.

- Create a cover please, even if you're only going to make one!
- You may make up to 10 entries
- Entries may have line edits, but you must make at least 1 without.
- If you are accepted, you may keep one of your entries as a custom!
