Introduction

Welcome to the Light Collector Nursery! This is a place where you can take two Light Collectors and breed them to produce up to two babies at a time. A Light Collector, or LC for short, is a small mystical creature who eats or ''collects'' forms of light. Their favorite snacks are always light which is the same color as their glow. This glow appears on a baby Light Collector's tail at birth as a light white color that quickly develops its permanent color within a hour of being born. When the baby Light Collector grows its horns as an adolescent, this same glow appears on the tips of the small round horns. But the wonder does not stop at the beautiful glowing tails and horns, as all Light Collectors have the ability to fly even without wings. They are incredibly light, allowing them to float through the air lighter than a feather.

Rules

All original species rules apply.

You may not ask to breed a Light Collector to a different species, as that is against the rules.

You may not breed them yourself.

Do not post saying that it is just for anyone to do, please specify an artist (make sure that they have posted available slot openings!)

Do not post a form unless an artist posts accepting a certain number of breedings, and if those haven't been claimed yet by other users.

One breeding per opening.

You must own at least one of the Light Collectors being bred.

You must have permission from the other user to breed the Light Collectors.

The Light Collectors being bred must have been owned by their current owner for at least a month before breeding.

Parents must have been mates for at least a month before breeding (a good way to track this is to simply announce it in the Fanclub!)

Light Collectors mate for life, and are not allowed to breed with more than one other Light Collector.

Be patient when your breeding is being done. Artists have lives off of Chickensmoothie and other duties to attend to.

If the breeding has not been done in over a month, you may cancel your breeding order and ask for another artist to do it instead if the first artist has not started yet. You must pm the artist and ask if they have done it yet. If they do not answer in seven days, you may ask for another artist.

FAQ

How many times can my Light Collector breed with its mate?
Six times maximum, with a wait time of one month in between each breeding (starting from the time the last batch was posted).

Can my Light Collector divorce its mate?
Yes, if there is a reasonable reason that is accepted by staff, a Collector may divorce it's mate. However, this means that the Collector may not have children with another if the previous two have already bred, since Light Collector's mate for life with only one partner.

What can I do with the baby/babies?
You may...
Keep them
Gift them
or put them up for adoption

How are the genders and twins decided?
Using a random number generator. Twins are rolled out of 4; 1 being twins and 2, 3, and 4 being single babies. Genders are rolled out of 2; 1 being male and 2 being female.

How are edits rolled for?
1-60 = no mutations/edits
61-80 = 1 mutation/edit from parents
81-90 = 2 mutations/edits from parents
91-100 = 1 random mutation/edit not found on parents/family

What is the random mutation roll?
This is a new option where your babies can roll for a chance of getting a random mutation not found on the parents.
