Viero possesses an adventurous soul; he is not content with his life unless
there is something fantastic and exciting unfurling before him. It is a
trait he has had since he was a baby, when he was frequently separated
from his parents and got lost. The world was always an incredible place
to Viero, and he wants to experience it all. He is quite true to his half
dragon heritage and absolutely loves money and treasures of all kinds.
When his hoard or his adrenaline are not being stimulated, he grows
restless and depressed, and he shows hatred towards the world.
Besides money, Viero has a few simpler things that bring him happiness.
For example, he absolutely loves to collect things that remind him of
the past. His home is a cluttered chaotic hoard of antiques and junk
from his personal history. In true hoarder fashion, he refuses to get rid of
anything. He also loves coffee, the smell of burning things, and the
companionship of "stupider" animals. The list of things he hates is very
long but includes sleeping - he is an absolute insomniac.

History || 400/1000
Viero's story really begins at the start of the California Gold Rush, in the19th century. Thanks to
his dragon-like instincts, the idea of all the gold he could discover seemed too good to be
true, and he packed up and said goodbye to his parents, and he headed to America. It was a wild
country at the time, which suited him just fine. Everyone was selfish, driven by the desire for
riches and success, and the result was that every single day seemed to be an adventure. Cowboys
and natives and gun fights and gold, gold, gold! He found quite a lot of it, and hoarded it in true
dragon nature. The result of which was that some greedy men tracked him down and tried to take
it all from him on many different occasions. He definitely got tangled up with some messy people,
but in the end he had made a lot of good friends, especially from the American Indian tribes, and
he ended up being probably the richest makoatl anywhere at the time.
This was all very short-lived, though. He wasted his money like crazy, and meanwhile he became
aware of how much the world was changing. Suddenly it seemed the west wasn't so wild, and the
cowboys and gunslingers were all dying off. The world didn't seem like home to him anymore, and
his attempts at involving himself in making money off the industrial revolution just weren't
working out at all. So he packed up the little gold he had left and started chasing more gold around
the world - he'd hear of gold in streams up in Alaska, or he'd meet someone who had success
in Canada, or he'd learn the location of gold mines discovered in Kenya - and while he had
some successes and a lot of failures when he headed to these places, he still felt greatly
dissatisfied with the lack of adventure left in the world.
Currently, Viero lives as a hermit away from the world that let him down. He moves homes, never
staying in one place for very long, and always taking the last of his gold with him. He guards his
hoard ferociously from others, and he trusts absolutely no one with knowing its whereabouts. He
has transformed into the stereotypical dragon of mythology - living on his pile of gold and
treasuring it more than anything else, including his own life.

While Viero has no family right now of his own, in the
past he took a young like-minded makoatl by the name
of Kuda under his fin. Kuda shares his obsession with
gold and riches, and Viero taught him what he knows
about treasure hunting. Kuda has a very different
lifestyle and way of thinking than his mentor Viero,
but Kuda remains one of the only makoatl that Viero
has any resemblance of a normal friendship with now.
Kuda now has a mate, Mizuho, who is now a part of
Viero's life too. He thinks highly of her and hopes that
they have children one day, because he doesn't think
that he'll ever have a family of his own. Mizuho finds
Viero very strange, and wouldn't really say she likes
him, but she realizes that he's the only real family that
her orphaned mate Kuda has, so she accepts him.
