What Is an Xenon? [Biology]
• Xenon are an elusive breed that we believe belong to the canidae family. They, unlike all other members of their family, have hooves instead of paws, and horns protrude out of the back of their ears. They have an incredibly long life span, and not much is known about them.
---
• Up until around 40 to 50 years, Xenon do not have horns, and their faces are dotted with spots, much like a raccoon's eye "mask". After they reach maturity, their spots fade away and they begin to grow horns. In rare occasions, however, they may not loose their spots and/or grow their horns. It is not known what causes this, though studies are pointing to certain genes.
---
• An Xenon is considered "full grown" at 70 to 80 years, and females can have pups anywhere from 80 to 200 years. The average life span of an Xenon is 250 years, though the oldest Xenon ever recorded was 520 years. Females are known to live longer than males by about 30 years.
---
• It has been theorized that one year to an Xenon is 10 years to humans, though nobody knows. That would, however, offer a better explanation as to why they live so long.
---
• Females care for their young until they reach about 50 years of age. Females are vicious protectors of their young until this age. Xenon typically mate for life, and care about one another deeply.
---
• Some members of the species are vicious to all, and normally stick around each-other. They are known as the Dark Ones and nobody can explain their behavior.
---
• Xenon are generally peaceful and kind, though are wary of strangers and have been known to attack while protecting young. Their individual appearance is usually very unique, varying from Xenon to Xenon, but in very rare cases they can look similar.
---
• It is common belief that if a human touches the horns of an Xenon, the human turns into an Xenon itself. That has never been proven, since scientists won't dare go near them because of this [they observe from afar and do autopsies]. Xenon have, however, been known to convert everyday objects into stone and even various metals. The scientific reason to this is for shelter, but nobody really knows. Xenon are also known to put people into a deep sleep, though nobody knows why.
---
• Nobody knows what the Xenon eat, but it has been proven that they drink water. We are also not sure how they communicate, though some people have reported hearing a high pitched sound near Xenon.
---
• In some occasions it has been recorded that an Xenon's hooves and horns glow. Scientists cannot describe their bioluminescence. Some Xenon also have wings, but nobody has ever seen one fly. They also, sometimes, have hair.
What do Xenon do?
No human knows what Xenon do. It is believed that they offer some sort of gateway between this world and another dimension, but nobody knows. They can also turn things of ours into stone or metal, and nobody knows why they do that either. Only a handful of people in the world have seen them "transport through dimensions", though those who have claim that they cannot believe what they see. They claim to see the Xenon "walking through a puddle in the air". After spotting the Xenon, however, many of these people fell into a deep sleep, and nobody can explain why. This can occur without a portal too. The distance that scientists view them from is, apparently, far away enough that they don't fall asleep. The common explanation is the types of pheromones that they give off when they reach our planet; some people report that they smell faintly like cinnamon.
Why are they named Xenon?
Scientists have named them after element number 54. Xenon is a noble gas that appears in our atmosphere in trace amounts. The purpose of this name is because of their elusiveness and their ability to make people fall asleep. Xenon is used as an anesthetic by humans. Too much Xenon, however, causes death to humans.
