About it: The connection: The volcano dragon lives in volcanoes. Every time the dragon pertaining to the volcano is hurt, the volcano erupts to protect it's occupant until they are healed. When the dragon dies, the volcano erupts for the last time. A dragon will live in one volcano all its very long life, and during winter unless it lives in a very warm place does not go off the slopes of its home least it die from hypothermia or its wings freeze. Diet: This dragon species will eat anything around the volcano, including many types of plants, and the rare human that is foolish enough to climb its home. Life cycle: They can live for up to one million years. The female gestates for 200 years (may seem like a very long time, but think of their lifespan) and gives birth to around 3-5 hatchlings. It takes 1,000 years for them to become fledglings, and once they are fledglings their mother will ignore them but permit them to inhabit her volcano. This goes on for about 500 years, and then the nestlings will all fly off to the next mountain that is ready to become a volcano. A battle of around 1, 000 half-grown volcano dragons happens on the slopes of that mountain, and only one will come out alive. When the battle is finally over, the new volcano will erupt, and the fledgling that triumphed becomes an adolescent. After 1, 500 years, they become mature and reproduction-ready adults. They lose the ability to reproduce approximately after they become 750,000 years old. In their old age they become extremely territorial. Mating: Every 3, 200 years (approx.) they gather in Fiji for 2 months to compete to mate with the highest ranking female or male. They preform dances and fight.
