About:
Appearance & General Information:
Pinnas started off as a wolf/fox hybrid, and have evolved over time. Fully grown males are the size of a horse, while fully-grown females are the size of a pony. Pups are born by themselves, rarely as twins, and are about the size of a Husky until they reach adolescence, age 5, when they begin their growth spurts.Pinnas have long, bilateral stripes, similar to those of a tiger, that help them blend in with their surroundings. Pinnas live in dense forests, typically within the Canadian shield. They have thick fur to shield them from the cold and snow. Pinnas also have glowing antennae that are used for light and to communicate telepathically with other Pinnas.
Behavior:
Pinnas live in packs of eight to fifteen. These packs consist of an alpha and beta pair, a healer, warriors, huntresses and pups. The alpha pair will live in a den, whether it is naturally-occurring or dug by other pack members. Though males are larger, the alpha female is dominant. The beta pair often lives with the other pack members, in underground dens. Warriors are males who are trained to battle from young ages. In a pack, there will be anywhere from 4 - 6 huntresses. The alpha and beta females will take these huntresses out once a day. They often target large prey such as deer or moose. Healers are either gender and are responsible for caring for the pack. They use easily found plants and herbs to do so.
Pinnas are usually naturally occurring colors, the most common colors being black and gray, followed by palomino, chestnut, bay, red and blonde. White is the rarest color, and cannot be passed down to pups by their parents. Stripes follow the same rarities.
