- General Information
In the upper Midwest of the United States a strange type of reptile resides. A mutation over the past decade has caused their genes to change, limbs and sometimes even fur appearing on a species we never knew existed till the past few years. Their mouths act exactly like a pythons would, though like any Viper their long hinged fangs contain poison that these creatures can spit over ten feet distances. This poison is harmless to humans - for some reason their venom doesn't react to our flesh or any other part of our body, aside a minor rash in very uncommon cases - but their venom may cause permanent harm or even death for pets and other animals. Be wary if you try introducing them to strange animals, since they do tend to be picky about their territory.

- Behavior & Diet
Zechrome Vipers are a very social breed of reptile. They can be in packs of 20 or more, though these packs are usually family formed groups. Most Vipers are wary of newcomers, seeing as outcast males or females sometimes even eat Zechrome eggs.
Zechrome Vipers eat a steady diet of small rodents, birds and sometimes even large insects. Some may enjoy fruit, but any man-mad food is bad for their health. Chocolate, coffee and especially hard candies are virtually toxic to them. Some Zechrome Vipers even enjoy fish.
An adult male/female may have more than one mate at a time, and as such produce quite a lot of offspring. However, once a Zechrome Viper picks a mate they will stay with them tell the end of their life. A gathering of Zechrome Vipers may occupy a three or more mile stretch of land.
Zechrome Vipers communicate with each other though a series of clicks, squeaks, hisses, and purrs. They're intelligent creatures, but do not have the vocal capacity to speak our language. We've also discovered that aside the audible sounds Zechrome Vipers make to each other, they can communicate with each other mentally. They can share feelings, thoughts, and ideas with their brethren through this advanced communication.

- Owning a Zechrome Viper
Being the social animal that they are, Zechrome Vipers don't like to live alone. Getting them another play mate as soon as possible is good for their health, and for yours as well! Most Zechrome Vipers are well adapted to the cold with their thick coats, though there is a few who had the short hair gene which make their susceptible to the cold. They may be required to wear a scarf or jacket of some sort to keep healthy during the winters. During the hot summers Zechrome Vipers are at risk for heat exposure. To keep this from happening, make sure to leave a dish of ice water around or leave a place in the shade for your Zechrome Viper.
By some accounts, it's said that owning a Zechrome Viper can induce relaxation as well as long life. Though it hasen't been proven, many people believe it to be true after being in the presence of these creatures. Even their poison has its uses, often used in hospitals for sterilization of equipment.
