۞ Sprites are a(most often) slight but very fast moving cross between a moth, dragonfly and fox. They mainly inhabit deciduous forests, and thrive near large water sources e.g) waterfalls, rivers, etc. Dragonflies live as larvae for years under the water and only gain flight for a few months before they die. Due to being crossed with a dragonfly, sprites are most comfortable near plentiful water sources. Sprites the size of a large fox -- 55-65cm tall, with rumored magical wings. However, when stretches out, their wings expand to be much larger. Approximately 70% of all sprites migrate south to a warmer environment in the winter, but the other 30% grow thicker coats and survive in large packs to hunt for sufficient food. Their coats do not change colour in the winter.

۞ The 90 degree turned crescent moons on their foreheads represent how old they are. No moon means they are young, a crescent moon means they are a young adult, a half moon means they are half way through their lives, and a full moon represents an older sprite.


۞ They are most abundant in secluded part of Asia and Canada and some parts of the USA. They are at best in deciduous rain forests, but they can survive in some coniferous forests.


۞ Sprites live in packs for safety, hunting and companionship. They hunt in groups of 5-10 other sprites. There are two possible Alphas (one until they find a mate), Beta male, Beta female, Deltas, Lead hunter/huntress, Hunters/huntresses, Lead warrior, warriors, scouts, omega, and loners. To take a position, they must convince the other Sprites they are suited to that specific rank. Although sprites come across as very sound creatures, they do have claws and teeth for offense and defense.

۞ Sprites live for up to 300 years each, but do not reproduce excessively. A female will usually have 1 litter of 3-5 sprite pups every 15 years. The pups take 20 years to grow up to be a full adult, and will remain a capable adult for another 260(ish) years. A pup will stay close to their mothers for 16 years, and until they are 20 they will be semi-unreliant on their mothers. However, the last 25-45 years of their life they will be elders of the pack. An elder if a pack will be treated with respect.

۞ Sprites may not live a full 280-310 years if they become sick, extremely unwell, or injured (either by a predator, another sprite, etc.) If their wings are damaged, they will be unable to fly for up to 6 months (depending on the damage), but they will be able to repair themselves given enough time.

۞ When you create a new sprite design, you have several options on how it will be given an owner:
1) by letting people create creative forms and ordering art from artists all over CS of the sprite and giving the sprite identification (example: name, personality, etc)
2) Auction: you may auction off the design for CS Pets. The winning bid will trade over the pets. All pets go to the artist.
۞ You must post an exact deadline for each sprite to be given a new owner. You may make 1 extend date if a user requests it or if not many people entered. However, only 1 extend date may be put in place, because if someone couldn't finish their entry even with an extension, then obviously winning wasn't all that important to them!
۞ You may spend up to a week judging who will be the winner, but if any more time is taken then I will judge the competition myself

The thread is a WIP at the moment because I'm re-formatting and changing some things, but the most important posts have been edited now.
Kirarya I'll be waiting a while to decide the artists as I get more applications in, but your designs are cute!
