Parrapups, or Parras, are an omnivorous, aviary quadrupedal species that originated from tropical areas, but after they were domesticated, they gained more levels of fur and different beaks. All parras spend a lot of time cleaning themselves, and preening their feathers if they have wings. Parras come with a variety of tails and beaks, but good luck finding one that does! Having a large gene pool Parras also have the chance to show some mutations. They come in a large variety of colors including bright neons and dull greys. All parras are a very social in some way and love to whistle, sing, and chatter to others- Parra or not!

- No bickering if you do not get a parra
- Anyone can enter for Parras. Even me.
- No selling Parras
- Do not bribe artists
- Do not ask to be in staff
- Only official artists can make customs
- NEVER change design w/o explicit
permission from the artist.
- If added to do acc., do not add edits

- 1 month for each age stage minimum
- If you no longer want your Parra

(Standard) Parrapup's Sizes

Adults - 3.5 - 4 ft
Adolescents - 2-3 ft
Fledglings - 1 ft
Tails - Close to Body Length (Chest to Rump)
♫ Parras are distant cousins of the Chinese Finchlings and Hummingbee Pups.
♪ Parras weigh from 50 to 80 lb due to their lighter bones, and are quite easy to pick up!
♫ All of them are social in some way, otherwise they can develop a form of schizophrenia
♪ They mostly enjoy singing and just chattering with others and every parra has a song
♫ Some parras are known to stay miniature and the size of Fledglings, but they can't breed unless with other miniatures.
♪ Although some people are particular with having parras with hetero-colored eyes, these parras have worse vision than regular ones and usually are unsafe to fly.
♫ Parras hatch from large eggs (Approximately 7-8 Inches tall) that are shades from off-white to browns. Pastel like colors may also show up, but aren't common for the standard.
♪ You could say Parras are expert beat-boxers because they can use both of their sets of vocal cords at the same time! Letting them sing and mimic songs! They can sing the sound and imitate the lyrics at the same time!
♫ Sexuality of Parras is closely related to humans! They have learned quite a lot by watching humans! I.E. they can be heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, omnisexual, pansexual, asexual, and etc!
♪ Parras have very strong throat muscles that can allow them to contract and expand them as they please! It's also why the fledglings never shut up since they are exercising them. They can mimic effects of 'b' 'p' 'm' and 's' even though they don't have lips or teeth!
♫ Manes can be grown out, but never past their chests if they have wings, and if hair is grown out past their chests, owners are required to have it put up or braided to avoid harm to the parra. Long haired parras are not allowed to fly without it being put up, it is considered a hazard. Manes can also be removed over time if they have their manes plucked. After being plucked, their natural fur just grows over it. To get their manes to grow back, they have to take special meds and special shampoo.

♪ Diet ♪

Parrapups have a mixed diet, and they can practically eat whatever they want! Just make sure to avoid Avocados, chocolate, onions, garlic, uncooked mushrooms, and celery.

♫ Behavior ♫

Parrapups are for some reason very closely tied to the months they are born in under different zodiac signs. It is undiscovered as to why this is yet.

♪ Lifespans ♪

Although Parrapups in the wild pass on after around 20 years, domesticated Parrapups have always been recorded to pass away whenever their caretaker does. Most people believe it is because they are so connected and are influenced by them. When their owner passes away, they just lay down and fall asleep with them, and then they don't wake back up. It is traditional for most to buried together.

Are customs open?
- Customs are actually only available during an event or when Beatnik needs to test for any bugs. Staff are the only ones who can make customs with a limit of 2 per staff member.

How do I become a Staff member?
- Artists are selected during competitions. Guest artists will change every month. Moderators will be hired whenever it seems we need more help. Other staff positions will be offered at times and even during Open House events.

What is the Open House?
- Open House is when the Parrapup Adoptables are in need of plenty of staff members, so we have an Open House displaying all of the positions we need, or you can offer where you can help, or what you can do!

How many Parrapups can Guest Artists make?
- Guest Artists are allowed to make up to 5 adoptables and then one custom. (You can only get one custom for your time as a guest artist, not every time you are a guest artist.)

Staff Notes

If you ever have issues with staff (Not judging, closing contests, failing to respond, please contact Beatnik (Me) and I will handle it.

- Any staff can be terminated under certain circumstances such as not being active as they have said in their applications and/or other undisclosed reasons. Staff will be given a pm when they are terminated with reasoning of why they have been terminated.
- Staff are allowed to make up to two customs (Must be approved by me) unless stated otherwise in the following notes.

Artists

- One Parra must be made every two weeks at least.
- Artists cannot claim a design up for adoption as a custom.
- Customs must be made in the color-in center
(If you become attached to one, save the pic to your comp and then post it to the color-in center.)
- Beatnik (me) can take over any contest for judging if the artist doesn't close it or judge it in a timely manner.
- Artists are allowed to judge small contests. (Naming, short stories, gifs, jokes, etc.)

Moderators

- Must be friendly
- Artists can ask them to help judge small contests.
- Must agree to being active within the fandom
- Preferably have a Skype to quickly contact me.
- Message me when you will be absent.

Guest Artists

- Chosen once at the beginning of each month
- May be a GA every other month (If you are a GA in January, you cannot be a GA again until March)
- May make one custom (Must be approved by me)
- Can make up to 5 for adoption, 2 runner ups.

Judges

- Judges are in charge of larger comps or small competitions that end up with a lot of entries
- Judges must have Skype for quick contacting
- Preferable if Judges apply with friends so we all know each other!
- Will be collaborating with each other often
- Judges have higher authority than Artists and Mods
- Will tell me if a mod or artist is getting out of line if they spot it.

Parrapups are the proud founding species to practice "No Forms Left Behind." What does this mean you ask? Good question.

What is "No Forms Left Behind?"

It is actually exactly how it sounds. I, as an adopter, have been shattered and disappointed plenty of times when a form I work on for months gets no recognition when I don't win at the end of a competition. This doesn't always mean you will get a RU, but it will make sure that everyone can clearly see why an artist has chosen a winner like they have. It also ensures that the artist/judges, go over every complete form. If your form wasn't complete, you do not qualify and it doesn't really need to be judged. (This does not mean to ignore some entries for impress me's just because they say WIP at the bottom or something.)

Is this for every contest?

Not quite! Some contests are simple, like "Post a funny gif!" and these are just based off of simply picking. This only applies to contests with multiple entries that do amazingly and impress me contest. If a mod or judge believes that the contest qualifies and gets Beatnik's approval, then it will be put into the "No Form Left Behind" status.

Has this been done before?

Actually to what I have seen, no. That is why Parrapups will be going through this. Feedback for it would be great. If you'd like to see an example that I have done before, here is a time I have practiced it: Pseudodragon # 173
