It's such a pretty scene. But how.

You must be some sort of super robot being able to do this with one layer...

It wasn't that hard x3
I just made sure to do things in a certain order. Starting with the sky and all it's colors, and then adding the ground and the clouds and all that. If it were impossible to work in one layer, we wouldn't have so many amazing traditional artists around x3
