~ Glad to see you've taken interest in my competition. Its going a rough one, so please, bear with me.
First of all im going to make this big, nice, and bold so everyone can see it and no one says "I DONT SEE IT!!1!"

- End Date 3 Months from now -
because I never clarified this : I'd like the species to be NON EXISTANT. meaning I don't want cats, and dogs, and things like that. C: No one has posed one that looks a whole lot lot similar to a dog/cat so that's fine. But just to clarify it.
also, the 1st - 3rd place entries will belong to me C: any entry other than those (unless I get around to adding a 4th place) will belong to the original artist of them. ^^


wow ! that's a hefty lot of time. Well guess what? The Eiffel Tower wasn't build in a day people. Im giving people time to make their entries, so I don't want, and I seriously mean this. No 2/3 minutes entries. I think at the most, i'd like to see an hour piece. Honestly though, an Hour goes by fast.

Im asking, no begging. That the species has a baby stage, an adolescent stage, and an Adult stage. c: I plan on making the species adoptable on both DA, and Chicken Smoothie. So If you don't like your art being placed around, or used around.

I was asked to add more preferences and such, so I shall. Im going to go into more or less 'semi' detail of what im interested in, looking for, and basing my judging on.

Im not necessarily looking for something utterly canine biased. While I am hoping for it, it doesn't need to be your center of attention. Im looking for something creative and original. If you can't do that, while having something slightly canine originated, don't worry about it. Creativity and originality go much farther in my book than trying to get something to look like it has canine or feline in it.
Im going to go into a little detail on what im specifically looking for now. I mean in both originality, and a well processed species.

Creativity:
Im looking for something that is different, unique. Something that makes people want to take a second glance. Not just something thrown out of sketch book, that makes you personally want to rip it up. Something that catches eyes, and turns heads. Im not asking for glitter dogs and stuff, just something people will want to take a second look at. For example, the species Jelly Bean Dragon. It is a very well put together species, its very neat, and its very 'head turning.' Its a fairly popular species, so a lot of people are like 'omg what if I make something like that. will people want to adopt them!?"
Personally I hate it when things like that happen. Don't copy or originate your idea from a species someone already made, it's unoriginal, and it holds you down.

Species:
Im looking for something that is put together. Not just a few lines, colored in, that your going to cross your fingers wins. While some artists can do that because their art is 'oh so amazing and dazzling.' Not everyone can. Put thought into your creations, you have three months to improve and expand on you species ideas. You can continuously add on to, or take things out, make lines better, add in shading. Hey I've known people's art to broadly expand and improve in two months time. C: so don't worry about rushing through something just to get it posted and seen.

Base species:
Just to give some of you guys an idea of what i'd especially like people to work from, or worth with, or get ideas from im going to post some preferred species to be worked from. Again im not asking people that they need to, but its like bonus points for trying.
- Foxes.
- Wolves
- Hyenas
- Big Cats
- Dragons (literal fire breathing scaly dragons. ouo)
- Rabbits

Base Species Parts:
We all love certain things about animals. Eyes, ears, traits. So here are some things that would also be bonus points when making a species.
- Long fluffy tails
- Larger ears
- Snouts
- Mammals
- Fur
- different ears. (Interchangeable, such as large, normal, droopy..etc...

Color & Stages & Other Stuff:
What im really adding in, and taking points off for is lock alpha. Its important that a species already comes with lock alpha available for coloring right away. While I would do it myself if I could, I can't because my tablet is still broken and messed up. I don't see it being fixed till almost Jan. 2014. So. Please try and make sure you nicely and carefully make it lock alpha.
Stages. Another key role, stages im asking consist of three 'ages.' Baby/Newborn stage, Teen/Adolescent Stage, & the full Adult stage. Defiantly a huge plus if this is included.
Expanding on my 'ears' thing. I'd really life it if there was an option to 'change' the ears to different styles, along with the tail. Maybe 3 or 4 different 'poses' for the two.

Ok now that, that is over with i'll continue on. It would be nice to have a few 'hair' options ; u ; because I suck at drawing hair. Yes, yes I do. So possibly 2/3 Female hair versions, and maybe 2/3 male hair versions. I'd also appreciate add on's to the species. Such as 2/3 different horns you can add on, 3/4 different tail or ear types to add on. Things like those.
Be Original please! I don't want JBD, JMB, Kia, etc.. copycats. Be Original! I think that would make you stand out more than being a JBD wannabe c;

I do not want horses, rats, or things like those.
Im really interested in animals closely related to looking like a dog, or a cat. Honestly im just happy with originality, but it would be nice <3 u v u" Make sure, anything, and everything that would need to be colored in on the species has lock alpha available, and already has 'color' added in. C:

do not steal or trace over people's art
this goes for the contestants, and people just browsing. If you see a species, don't be like "wrfbjef Imma make a species similar to it" or "no one owns it. CLAIMING IT!" No. just no.
Artists, don't (I've seen this done before so im going to say it) trace over multiple species to make a whole new species. No. It needs, and I cannot stress this enough, it needs to be YOURS.

Made a species you no longer use, or don't plan on doing something with?
Post it. But, it must be in Oekaki, and it must be yours. No re-selling off an species that was given to you by someone else, or made by someone else.
