Classification; Animalia - Chordata - Mammalia - Carnivora - Canidae - Canis - Canis Lupis - C.L. Astrum - Lumen Lapidi
Other names; Stella Lapidi (star gemstone), Lapidi
Size Comparisons;
Newborns are the size of a guinea pig
Adolescents are about the size of a rabbit.
Adults are the size of a spaniel.
General Appearance;
Lumen Lapidi, commonly known as Gem-star Dogs, are quadrupedal canine animals named for the gemstones found at the end of their tails. They are small to medium sized creatures measuring approximately 30-40 cm (14-16 in) at the shoulder. Both genders are similar in size, the difference between them being that females have 3 gems surrounding their main stone on each side and males have only 2. When they run, they're feet emit a glow that gives them the appearance of a shooting star. Though the dominant gene is that of pricked ears, there have been cases of dogs having flopped ears. Tail length also may vary between a longer and shorter tail, and both are fairly common. Colors vary from animal to animal; few have completely unnatural colors. The color of the gemstone seems to have relation to some aspect of the Lapidi's life, though the reason and relation is currently is unknown.
Temperament;
Lumen Lapidi is a rather shy, but friendly animal. They tend to live in pairs, either with a mate or sibling. They are peaceful and friendly creatures with playful tendencies. Fights between Lapidi are rare.
