When all is lost,
and hope seems gone;
think about me,
Rememebr my song.
Random quote, don't really feel like writing much more ^^U sorry...
total layers: Around 30.
Total time: calculating
final step of drawing without lines, I told you didn't I? don't stop when you think you're finished, stop when you know there's nothing left to do. there's still some bits I can do, but I'm lazy and don't feel like doing them XD
there's always a little something that just unlocks the image, so to speak, that makes you go "Wow, that's beautiful" or "Amazing" or are just silent in awe, I try to unlock this in all my pics, so far, I've only succeeded ten or so times out of the thousands upon thousands of attempt after attempt and failure after failure. but it can be done.
Even some of the best artists drive themselves mad with frustration trying to unlock this trait that lies dormant in every image. it takes a great talent to do so, and many of my friends here on CS (some not too fantastic, but trying) have made me silent in awe with many of their images, even if some people won't admit it

the key isn't really in how you show or present the work, it's what you put IN it, like that embarrassing sweater your mother in law sends to you (guys or girls that have had this happen) or just people that have gotten gifts they really aren't too happy with, the message is pretty much the same here. "It's the thought that counts" and it most certainly does.
when you want to say something in your work, think it, feel it, listen to songs related to it, implant that emotion you get from it into your work; THAT'S what it means to unlock the true nature of an image.
anyway, I lost track, using a new layer, you use the airbrush tool and add softly a layer of whatever color, light or dark, you're using to add extra emphasis to your image, set it to multiply, subtract, burn, soft light, or darken, and you'll get an effect you like out of at least one of them. I usually just use multiply, it all depends on the light too.
hope you like it
