The air around her thickened with emotion, and it felt as if the world stopped dead in it's tracks as her heart clenched with grief. Her legs shook, giving way under her weight as she lost control of them. She fell to her paws, tears streaming from her eyes as she overlooked the unmoving body of her mate. Her cry was high pitched, filled with more grief than seemed possible. "No!" She wailed, throwing her head back as the tears grew stronger. She plunged her head into his dark brown fur, the scent of death flooding her nostrils, and the cool skin of her lifeless love. "No," She repeated, this time her voice a hoarse whisper, "You can't leave me, don't leave me!" She pulled her head away in order to look down at his unblemished face, nuzzling his cheek. "Come on," She whispered hopefully, "We have to go, we have to keep moving. You can't rest here." When he didn't respond, the tears that had momentarily slowed, flowed freely once again. Suddenly, they stopped as she rested on her haunches, and starred at his face with lack of expression. "Take me with you," She told him, knowing that she wouldn't be able to live without him. "Take me with you. I will live amongst the stars, with you." As if knowing how absurd her request was, her strong exterior broke, and once again she wailed, collapsing back into the grass, curling herself around him as if he was a pup. She rested her head gently upon his pelt, and closed her eyes, taking in his scent.
Once she opened them again, his scent was as strong as ever, as if he still walked among their Pack. A flash of hope sped past, disappearing as she glanced down at her paws, taking in the sight of his body once again. A warm pelt brushed her coat, and she turned to see his spirit, standing by her side. Before she could speak, he breathed the words into her ear.
"Goodbye,

Well, I love the lines! ^.^ I thought that they'd be perfect for a...ghost, kind of scenario. I did edit the lines a little bit, but not too much.
I randomly made two characters, (and then for some reason a back story) to just go with the lines... But they're really starting to grow on me.... So I don't know...
If you didn't get from the 'story', the female wolf (Cora) lost her mate (Taric). I'm not yet sure what his cause of death was, so if you have any ideas, let me know! ^.^

I really love this song, and was listening to it the whole way through. So... I guess you could call it my 'inspiration'.... if... you want... o.o
