Aautumn moeru, Aki
(Flaming Autumn, Fall)

''Fire burns outside and within,
I breath in the lives of eternity,
As Autumn courses my flaming coat,
I can't believe that this is my home.

'Cause I live in the flames of November.''

The words rang in Aki's mind as she stood among the falling leaves. The wind was cool and the clouds hung low and warm and the only bit of the sky to be seen behind them was just enough to let the setting sun shine through. Aki took a deep breath and looked around. It was November. Her birth month and her favorite time of year. Closing her eyes, she expanded her other senses and took them in deeply. She could hear in the distance the clashing of antlers as the elk and deer fight for their mates, and the musical rustling of the colorful, falling leaves. She could smell the freshly harvested wheat, the corn full and sweet, the pumpkins in the patch not far from where she was, and the apples. She could smell apples of a wide variety and it made her happy. It will be good eating this Fall. Opening her eyes again, she watched as the sun finally set behind the horizon and smiled. Joy in her heart, she bounds off into the crisp Autumn dusk.

Tomorrow, will be a beautiful Flaming Autumn day.
