the story....

the ground shook, the sound of gun fire and explosions all around me. there was so much smoke it was hard to breath. ashes choked the air as the once great city crumbled under the weight of the battle. fires roared up all around coloring the sky shades of orange, red and black. it looked like the middle of the night even though it was supposed to be noon. i ran as fast as i could go trying to get away from the smoke and fighting. but it was to no avail... i soon collapsed in a coughing fit my whole body shook. i heard yelling and running, it was getting close coming fast, then they were right on top of me. i was pulled to my feet and pushed forward "come on go!" he yelled compelling me to start running again. we ran the smoke starting to clear as we left the city. we finally stopped just outside of the city on a hill. i sat panting and coughing. when i finally caught my breath i looked up at my rescuer, he was a tall brown eyed man. a solder looking to be about 20, he starred at the city in horror. i looked as well, my eyes went wide. the city was crumbling, flames everywhere, smoke coming off the top of the buildings as if it was one big chimney. i will never forget that day...
