I made an adoptable species a while ago, but didn't launch it. I decided I wanted this species to be nice and fancy... with some really good lines. So here's a lineart contest! There are 4 breeds of Bat-Dragons, all of which have an example lineart by me included.
General Species Info:
- Large (Main body is about horse sized, and most are about 4.5 - 5 Feet at the shoulders)
- Are frequently ridden, and make great work animals
- Smart and friendly, great companions
- Only natural colours
- All have one finger extending from wing
- Teeth always protrude from mouth slightly
- Each has teeth suited to it's diet
- Hind feet are soft-bottomed (paws) and have no claws (exception is carnivores)
- Fur is all over body, but longest on chest
- Very sloped hindquartes
Carnivores:
- Thick, pointed teeth
- Slightly broader + shorter muzzle
- Thick, short fingers with sturdy claws, hind feet with claws
- Largest Breed (5.5 Feet at shoulder almost all the time)
Omnivores:
- Long, slightly blunt teeth
- Average canine-type muzzle (think of a wolf's muzzle)
- Clawless hind feet
- Mid-size (4 - 5 feet at shoulder)
Herbivores:
- Rabbit-like teeth
- Average canine-type muzzle
- Clawless hind feet
- Mid-size (4 - 4.5 feet at shoulder)
Nectar/Fruit Eater
- Long, delicate, pointed teeth for skewering fruit. Easily broken if used to eat anything but very ripe fruit
- Proboscis like tongue for eating nectar
- Narrow muzzle (slightly narrower than that of a whippet)
- Small (3.5 - 4 feet at shoulder, but can reach 5 feet at shoulder on rare occasions)
- Sometimes difficult to ride due to size, often is a companion animal.
What you need to do:
- Create a lineart for the species (with edits for each breed)
- Create simple reference lines for wings + eyes
- Create a Lock Alpha layer for all of your lines
- Follow species and breed standards shown
What you can do for bonus points:
- Create Shading
- Create Unique Lines for Each Breed
- Create Baby Lines (No teeth shown, and could probably be generic)
- Create detailed reference lines
