Foxfeather looked up to find the starless sky covered with a blanket of white fog, slowly falling. She jumped up a few ledges to an enclosed section of ShadeClan territory, near the border of LightningClan. She feared that no one had followed her to this place, so she looked around, finding no cat around.
Suddenly, a voice spoke. "Foxfeather! There you are," the voice said contently.
A black tom with piercing emerald eyes emerged from the dark gloomy fog. Foxfeather's tail went straight up at the sight of him. "Swiftshadow!" She hurried toward him and rubbed against the tom's neck fur. Swiftshadow bent his head down and smoothly rubbed the top of Foxfeather's muzzle.
"I missed you...," Swiftshadow mrowed softly.
"Me, too...," replied Foxfeather. The two talked of this and that until they heard rustling in the bushes. They jumped up suddenly and Swiftshadow hissed. Out popped the intruder. Intruders! A pack of wolves had them cornered...

The very next morning, a ShadeClan patrol, looking for Foxfeather, found their bodies... And three little kittens: one black she-cat with emerald eyes, one bright orange tom with white paws, tail tip and deep blue eyes, and one tiny black tom with white paws and intelligent gleaming teal eyes looking sadly down at his mother and father, carefully trying to nudge them awake....
And so, a new story arises...
