Bay Tovero
Owned by CrazyCatFreak
The foal plays in it's paddock around it's mother, Julia.
"It's a cute one, isn't it?" The girl says.
The foal is a bay tovero foal. Chesnut and homozygous (EE) black horses combined can produce brown, black or bay foals, but never chestnut because a chestnut horse needs to be ee, and they can not get an e from a homozygous black parent because that parents won't have an E to pass on to its foal. The horse is bay from getting the agouti gene from the chestnut parent, not the black parent. I think. So: This horse gets the bay colour from the sire, and the coat is tovero. Tovero is a mix of tobiano and overo.
Did I confuse you yet? Don't worry, I'm still trying to figure this out too. If you're curious about genetics, just search google and lots of really helpful sites pop up.
