Blew was always the playful type. He loved playing, and nothing else. One day, that all changed, due to one specific, tricky little fox...

Blew was playing with his brother, Rusty, outside the house. He tumbled into a bush, and got stuck in some roots. He got a lot of cuts--some on his legs, some on his sides and back, and even one by his neck. He struggled and tossed to get free. His brother didn't come to the rescue, probably thought Blew was fine and went back into the house. After he struggled for a while, he gave up. A cheeky laugh came from outside the bushes. He flinched as a creature, bigger than him, stuck it's head into the bush.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" said the creature. "A stuck little pup?"
The creature appeared to be a female. It looked like a canine. Maybe a wolf?
"Fine. Don't speak then." She said. Her snout came closer to Blew. He flinched once more. What was she going to do? Her teeth clamped the root, breaking through it, and snapping it in half. "There." She said.
Blew lifted himself up. He was... Free? He blinked the confusion from his eyes and looked at the creature. Now that he could see her better, it was clear what she was. "A fox."
The fox laughed at Blew clueless nature. "Wow, you just figured that out?" She guessed.
Blew sat down. "Why'd you help me?" he asked. "You're a fox. I'm a dog."
"Doesn't matter the species. You were in trouble, so I helped. End of story."
Blew nodded.
"You shouldn't play so recklessly. I mean, playing like that is fine, but in a place like this, not a good idea."

Personality ::
Quiet and faintly sensitive Aspen is an amazing leader when given the chance and it is very rare that he loses his head, even in tough situations. Unfortunately, Aspen is not one to joke around about anything; even if it is a small issue. Normally he will not join in with the mockery and playful games that other pups his age enjoy and instead prefers to spend his time striving towards something productive [one of his biggest frustrations is when there isn’t a challenge for him to work out].
It is only at very rare moments in time that he will let others in and tell them how he truly feels about something. He is slightly distrustful of others and would rather suffer in silence than have everyone in on his personal business. This sometimes makes him seem cold but once you get use to his inability to confess his emotions and learn to notice the different body language he uses it is pretty easy to tell just what he is thinking.

He had been barely a year old when he first fell in love.
By human standards that seems illogical and ridiculous but seeing as Aspen was, and always will be, a part of the ever-growing canine family his estimated age would have been about ten and a half.
At this age we are all just beginning to recognize others outside of our family; we are creating our first true friendships and creating our first true crushes.
For Aspen though, this escapade was more than just a frivolous adoration. The feelings he had for Rosabel Lux were so incomputable that sometimes he didn’t even understand them.
But now, stretched out in his warm bed, beautiful mate by his side, he could effortlessly comprehend what exactly he had felt all those years ago.

It had all started in the summer of his first year. It had been a particularly dry summer for the grassy plains of southern Minnesota and the whole land seemed to rattle with dehydration; but inside the large Cavell house it was always comfortably cool.

[This is not quite done yet but I couldn't resist posting :3 ]
