Must have really been in a drawing mood after everything I've done tonight. Well, saw this contest too, and decided to enter. Its been a long time since I've drawn a horse, let alone on the computer, but its a nice break from lions. Used a reference picture for the whole pose, and few others to work on details in the face and such. I'm super rusty drawing a horse. And the angle of the face is a bit hard to work with. Anyway, its getting late, but wanted to post what I had so far. Will do alpha and shadow layers later. Black lines are at least finished.

2/2/12 -- Finally got some time to finish this. Pretty happy with how it turned out considering I don't draw horses very often. Body color and Mane color are on separate layers to make it easier for coloring. Shadows on the body are not to full opacity on this example, so they can go darker if needed. Then I decided to quickly color it to test it out, and just for fun I love red roan pintos.

3/11/12 -- Seems like this competition fell stagnant. Not that I care if I win or not, but when it was said it would finish at the end of February, and here it is the 11th of March? I got bored with it. Don't want all the hard work for a decently drawn horse line art with shading and all that jazz to go to waste, regardless if I win or not. Its not about the competition anymore. So, reposting this under editable lineart.
