For anyone who has a species that they created and named, how did you come up with the actual species name?

I have a small cave-dwelling species called Troglosprites. The name is really a pun ... a troglobite is an animal that lives entirely in the darkest parts of a cave, which is what Troglosprites do (except they're about 2-3 feet tall and furry).

For anyone who has a species that they created and named, how did you come up with the actual species name?
I have Felzars, and their name is a combo between FELINE (cat) and EMPEZAR (to begin) which is Spanish. So they're Cats of the Beginning.

I also have Canres which have a similar name process except it's all Latin. CANES (dogs) and RES (thing) They're called Object Hounds sometimes because they use natural adaptations to mimic objects. I own the only one.

It's a style I never tried before...
