According to my Camp Nano statistics, I'll reach my goal of 20,000 words in February 2017 at this rate and I'll need to write 750 words per day if I want to finish on time.
Well then.
You're making more progress than me.

I have a feeling that little dash means I'll never finish at the pace I'm going.
That's odd- what are you currently at?
My Camp Nano stats say I will finish in early August. That gives me hope for now, but I know sooner or later it will reach September. XD
Lol
It reckons Imma finish in January next year XD

Thanks. Both my grandfathers fought in WWII, and my mom has PTSD, so I took what I know about both of those and out it to good use.

I have just thought of an amazing short story idea, but the problem I'm having is portraying the character to where he's still relatable, but not inaccurate. See, after watching a dragon naiad become a dragonfly this morning, I was talking with my mom about how amazing it is. Unlike butterflies, they do not pupate. When the naiad crawls out of the water, it molts for the final time to become a dragonfly. During its naiad stage, you can see the dragonfly waiting to be born. It even has little proto-wings. I instantly drew a parallel to humans, and how most of the time we are in our "naiad stage", meaning that we haven't discovered our true potential or the plan God has for us or our gifts. And once we do, we can become a "dragonfly", and "spread our wings".
Nice little message, right? Well, I'm having trouble trying to make a dragonfly naiad (a vicious little eating machine, scientifically) into a relatable character. What I'm planning on doing is writing out the "first draft" and posting it on here. Because I might need some help on this.
Megaguirus gets distracted by a butterfly. So pretty.

That sounds great!
Maybe your character could be a crim, but inside they're actually really lonely and just want someone to love them for who they are?
Idk

Ironically, I am pretty positive I will be getting emotionally with the next chapter I am writing in my story. It is about a cat and boy do I love cats.
Question!
- Code: Select all
What song or songs have recently given you inspiration or kickstarted your muse while writing?
I have a few I have been listening to: Lana Del Ray's Young and Beautiful, Ed Sheeran's Small bump, David Bowie's Lazarus, Panic at The Disco's Death of a Bachelor, Goo Goo Doll's So Alive, and random songs like Ashe's Is That Alright?(I will love you forever if you know this song), Marilyn Manson's version of Sweet Dreams, and things of that nature. (I also love listening to this song Mariposa that is in Spanish. It brings the muse by the truck loads)
I only ask this question so that I may steal your musey songs so I may use them for my own nefarious purposes. >:3

Ooh, that sounds like a good idea. I'll give that a try, thanks.
Of course, I'm not gonna work on this one until I finish the other story I've been working on for the past few months. No, it's not a novel, it's just a short story that's taking quite a long time to finish.
Because I am lazy and YouTube is far more fascinating than writing, LOL.
