seeing that video makes me think that my cat would be one of those "impossible to pill" cats.
I'm actually amazed at how still the cat in the video was, to be honest. When my cat was held by 2 people, and I tried to open his mouth as shown in the video, he pulled his head backwards, shaking it out of my hand while doing a biting/chewing motion, basically chewing up my fingers with his molars. One of his teeth even got my nail, which is not cracked down the middle and has a bruise under it, from how strong the bites were.

@Εschaton - Ah alright hm. If he's pulling his head back then you might need to have another person scruff him to keep his head still while you put the pressure on his mouth to open it. Unless you brother or dad was already doing that then I don't know what else to suggest besides possibly looking up alternate ways to open you cat's mouth besides what you did or possibly getting the vet to do it or show you a better way.

Story time guys (sorry i just had to)
1. My mum was trying to get my cat Cheeky in a cat carrier for a vet checkup and cheeky ended up scratching her from her elbow to her wrist.
2. Cheeky (once again) jumped over the fence and a nail must have been sticking out, well she got her front leg ripped open, we rushed her to the vet she didnt need stiches or anything, it just healed by itself.

@Eschaton - not sure if this may help, but a technique that we commonly use at the vet I work at is rather than trying to put your whole hand into the cats mouth to get the tablet far enough back, we do exactly what they did in the video Transkitty put up, but once we drop the tablet in we squirt a little bit of water in with a syringe. This stops the tablet from sticking to their mouth and the cat has to swallow. Its hard for people to dry swallow tablets, same for some cats.
I have given tablets to many difficult cats at work, and this seems to work well!
I trained a few of my cats in the past to eat their tablets, I would give them few treats, the tablet, then some more treats. In the end they would be too distracted by the treats to realise they had been medicated. I would also rub the tablet with a treat to get some of the flavour off too.
One of my current cats, Archie, has been on tablets for the past 2 months for urine crystals. These tablets are meant to be beef flavoured but they have a bitter aftertaste. Thankfully Archie is not the brightest cat and still eats the tablet twice a day, pulls a funny face after realising that it was bitter yet eats it again the next time! XD

This morning I ended up cuting open several pieces of wet food and hid tiny pieces of the medication in them, but even while eating those, I could hear him gagging and trying to tip his bowl over (something he does when he doesnt like the food he has). Eventually when I checked his bowl, he had eaten 2/3 of the medication, but one of the pieces was left in the bowl. So he somehow picked it out among all of the other pieces and the gravy. Too smart for his own good, really.
I still dont really understand how to get him to calmly open his mouth for long enough to put a syringe or anything like that in, because he immediately starts squirming and rapidly opening and closing his mouth. I don't know if my dad and brother didnt hold him well enough or something, but you'd think that two men could easily hold down a cat..

Hello! Quick question here...
I'm planning on having my cat Pepper DNA tested soon. Is
this a good one? I understand cat breed DNA tests aren't completely accurate, but I would like to get the most accurate one possible, so if someone knows a more accurate one, or if this is the most accurate, please let me know.

The kittens got to meet my rabbit today in preparation for my new rabbit to come home. They did fantastic with Eva! Of course they will never be alone with the rabbits, but i want them use to them now while they are young so that I don't have to lock the kittens up when the rabbit comes out.

Hey, I got a small long-hair cat furminator for free.
It's July. Shedding season. But when I try to use it, she hates it, she scratches it and stuff. Help..?
