diary page ; 1 wrote:It started out like this,
there was a festival that night, a very beautiful one. The chandeliers were sparkling under the fairy lights and white roses surrounded the place in both beauty and smell. The women, all over, were dressed in such beautiful dresses, and then men looked handsome as ever. Rose petals scattered around the tables, but no one dared to step on such beauty. This festival, was for me, I was turning 18 that night. My mother, the queen, thought it would be just splendid to have a ball for my turning of age. I didnt despise her of it. How could I despise of her of such beauty? I loved the sight of the dancing, the smell of my favorite flowers, and the sound of music and such beautiful sound of laughter. I loved it, how could I not? But something this grand, this extravagant for someone as shy as me, well I needed some air. So thats what I did. In the middle of my ball, I went out to get some air.
How foolish could I have been? How ignorant, naive, and stupid could I, a little girl, be?
That is how my life changed. I could have said it was for the worst, at that time I could have. Though if you asked me what I thought now? I will say it was for the best. It started a brand new life for me full of adventure, uncertainty, and unimaginable love.
Diary Page ; 2 wrote:I remembered a lot about that moment. I remembered my life, my achievements, and most of all. My regrets, that out shown them all. At that moment I was remembering each and every regret, every time my mother swatted at my hand for the mistake that I had done. Every mistake that led her to say the same six words each time. "That's not how a princess acts" with such disgust in her voice.
I wondered that moment, as I fought for my life against my attackers, if my mother would be glad.
Dairy Page ; 3 wrote:At that moment, when they took the bag off my head and the ropes off my wrists, I knew these people weren't my enemies. I remember staring at all of their faces in this room, I remember the curiousness in some of them and the seriousness and disgust in others. I was worried but I felt a weird sense of calm.
"What do you want from me? Money? Land? The crown? What ever you want you'll have to talk to my father. I cant give you anything so you're out of luck here." I remember saying.
A women rolled her eyes and sighed, while stepping towards me. "What makes you think we want anything from you girly?" The women said laughing.
I was confused at that moment. "Well you took me hostage didn't you?" I asked.
Someone else near the women giggled and said. "You're confusing her Styx. Why don't you just tell her?"
The women named Styx turned around and grimaced. "That would ruin the surprise." The she turned to me. "We aren't your enemy princess. You have to find your enemy if that is your friends, your family, your subject. Though it isn't us."
I didn't want to believe her but weirdly I trusted her so I nodded.
Diary Page ; 6 wrote:I'm sorry I havent wrote in the last few days. If I told you its been a whirlwind of the past few days. Well, I would have told you that would be an understatement. These last few days have been full of travelling. For me its been both on horse or in a carriage. The horse that I rode was a beautiful, black stallion. I named him Ghost in my head.
During nights we would pull over on the side of the road and settle in for the night. Once everything was set up one of others would start a fire and start cooking dinner. Some would set up camps for everyone. Tonight during set up I was on top of the carriage, staring up at the stars.
He came up behind me quick and silent, and he startled me. While sliding in next to me he grinned at me crookedly. "Having a fun time up here princess?"
I couldnt remember his name but I did remember him from his relentless flirting. "I was until you came up here." He covered his heart with his hands in mock hurt.
"You wound me princess. But fine Ill leave you, just watch out and dont get captured. I cant promise the other bandits are helpful and handsome as I am." He said with the same crooked smile and wiggled his eyebrows. "Oh also I was supposed to tell you that the food is ready."
I nodded. "Thank you, Ill be down shortly." He nodded and jumped off the carriage. I smiled after him, and shook my head. It was the first time in years. that I smiled genuinely. At that moment I knew I could one day call these people friends, and maybe family. I knew at that moment, I could live in this adventure, and die happier than I would at the castle.
Diary Page ; 10 wrote:It was almost night time, when we stumbled upon an old abandoned building. Styx said that we would be sleeping here tonight. She had a smile and she turned to me and said that we would have a feast tonight. I didnt know what she meant about that until it came all together. I explored the place for a little bit while everyone set up for tonight. The place was huge with multiple rooms and a big ballroom. I wouldn't be surprised if this place was owned by royalty. After my exploration I went back to the ballroom and it drastically changed since I was there an hour ago. Fairy lights hung from beams. On a platform sat several people with instruments. Everyone was dancing, laughing, and singing along to the music. On several tables sat pounds and pounds of food. I looked awed at everything. It was like a ball at the castle but with more roguish elements to it.
I felt a hand on my back and I turned around to see him again. The one who constantly flirted. He smiled that crooked smile, and held out his hand. "Let me show you how we throw a ball, princess."
The music changed to something upbeat, unlike castle music. With more strings and drums. People were dancing around us, and we danced together. He constantly lifted me up, twirled me, and I had so much fun dancing with all this twirling. He started to hum along and then started to sing the lyrics with everyone else with that crooked smile. "Oh your love, your love could start a war. Your love, is what I'm fighting for. I would die for this revelation!" He kept humming after that and I looked down blushing. He leaned towards me and whispered in my ear. "Im sure everyone here would fight for your love princess, I know I would." I shook my head and raised an eyebrow at him. "Yeah, Im sure my captors would fight for me." I rolled my eyes. "Yes they would, after all youre the most rare gem out of them all." That crooked smile showed up again. Our conversation ended, but he still twirled me around, and I stilled laughed and had a good time.
Diary Page ; 16 wrote:Its been weeks, almost a month on the road. We were still travelling by horses and carriages. It feels like it been forever since I was back at the castle, with fancy balls every weekend, big dresses, and responsibility.
I heard whispering going around this morning, that there was something going on today, something special. Every time I asked someone what it was going to be they just looked away and shook their head but smiled at me. I was confused, to say the least. I even went and asked Styx but all she did was smile and said "Later, princess."
It was until noon that day, that I found out about this surprise. I was in the carriage, reading, when it stopped and I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door, and stepped out seeing the boy with the crooked smile. "Come see your surprise, princess."
I looked behind him and I saw a tiny little village. The market was in motion, farmers, trinket makers, and others were selling their product and the villagers were buying the product. Kids were playing about, running around, kicking a ball, laughing. The village was tiny, but it was perfect. It was different than the castle grounds and the big villages surrounding it. This small village was perfect.
Styx walked towards me with a smile. I looked over to her and asked. "why bring me here? I mean its perfect, but why?"
She shrugged. "I wanted to show you that not only the royal life can be complete. The people here live a perfect life and they dont need all the money in the world or fancy dresses."
I smiled at her and thanked her for bringing to such a wonderful place. Hopefully after this journey I would be able to come back here. Maybe I would settle down here.
Diary Page ; 26 wrote:Looking back at my travels and writing I saw that I never really wrote about Hyperion. Not our history though. It seems like forever since I found him, or really he found me. Though the time before him seemed dull and like I wasnt really living. I must say though I was at a bad point before him. My father had been gone for a year, and my mother would always look at me like she never wanted me born, and I had no friends at the time to forget everything with. So I packed my bags and ran away into the forest. I was scared and lost. I wept for hours, thinking I would be there forever. Thats when he appeared. He seemed curious about me but he wouldnt come closer. Every time I would walk towards him he would fly a short distance and wait for me till we were out of the forest and back on castle grounds.
It was that next night, when he came back. I was out on my balcony, staring at the stars, when he swooped in and landed beside me softly cooing. From there on, he was my best friend and he made my life so much better. He was literally the light of my life, my actual sun. He cared for me and I cared for him.
Diary Page ; 29 wrote:We are staying at the small village tonight, not really in it but on the outskirts of the village. I sat on the top of the carriage watching the sun fall, and the lights in the village turn on. Fairy lights littered the small village, and the activity slowed down to a halt as the people went home. I heard noises and turned around to see styx and the boy with the crooked smile climbing up on top of the carriage. They sat on both sides of me.
"Hello, its a surprise to see you two here." I said, looking back to the village.
Styx shrugged. "You, princess, are closed off. We just came up to get to know you."
I rose an eyebrow and looked over to the boy with the crooked smile, and as always, he had that smile.
I smiled as I looked between them both. "If you wanted to know you could have always asked."
And so after that I told them everything. After all they were my friends, and I trusted them.
Dairy Page ; 56 wrote:It's been months since my capture, and we were still on the road. Since then I have learned about everyone in this group, and they have learned about me. I still wonder if my mother is looking for me, if my friends wonder where I have been, and if my father is in grief about my capture. I still wonder where we are going but, I dont worry too much about it.
Styx says were arriving today, and Im anxious and wonderfully but weirdly happy.
Our carriage has stopped and a knocking has sounded on the door. So I step out and I see Styx smiling but behind her is a house. Im confused, we've come all this way for a house?
"What is this?" I ask.
"This my princess, is the end of the line. This is where you belong, in the dollhouse. after this moment, its your turn to write your own story. Your mother wrote your first, we wrote your second, now you get to dream up the third, here where you belong." Styx said.
I nodded and smiled, walking towards the dollhouse to start the next adventure.
