"I'm glad to hear i--" Fernstar stopped when Squirrelpaw's body was brought into camp by Ashpaw and Silentstream. The leader immediately leaped down highledge and ran across to the apprentice. "Ashpaw! What happened?" The she cat ordered, nudging the lifeless apprentice urgently.

Ｔｈｒｅｅｌｅｇ
Threeleg heard Fernstar's call, but focused on his patient. He pressed an ear gently to her chest. Her heart rate was normal. He moved his ear down to her belly, and his eyes widened in surprise at what he heard. "Oh Juniperfrost, this is wonderful news!" The medicine cat exclaimed as he threw his head up and smiled. "You're going to be a mother!"

Juniperfrost tried to ignore Fernstar's call as Threeleg checked her through. A shot of pain washed over her body before her eyes widened at his next words. "Wait, what? I'm going to have kits?" She mewed, a smile creeping upon her face. Bramblewhisker was still physically alive in the Clan, and that made her happier than she could ever be.

Sparrowpaw opened his mouth to respond but he was interrupted by gasps of shock. He turned his head to see Squirrelpaw's limp body lying in the middle of the camp, and immediately his eyes went wild. "Great StarClan! Why is our Clan dropping like flies?" His voice was choked with fresh grief as he slowed to a stop beside Squirrelpaw.

Aquilo smiled at the ginger tabby. "Don't be upset if they reject you, they are in a tough situation at the moment. If you want a better chance at being accepted, I would give them a few days. Oh, and don't just walk into their camp, wait until you are found by a cat. But the more obvious, the better." He advised, waving his tail in a friendly manner.

Whiterain turned his head when commotion rang in his ears. He knew the shocked gasps and the sound of words stuck in cats' throats too well. Some cat had joined StarClan's ranks. Whiterain noticed the tortoiseshell-and-white fur of Squirrelpaw lying in the centre of camp. He'd seen her once before at a gathering, but his heart still welled with sadness and grief, mainly at the sight of how devastated the other cats were. "Should we grieve with them?" He asked Rosedust quietly, not sure if the dead apprentice would appreciate two strangers grieving over her.

ROSEDUST
Rosedust gasped slightly and hid behind Whiterain a bit. The scent of death wafted to her nose so she hurried her face into the soft fur of the toms back. "H-Her clanmates should grieve for her..." The she-cat whispered after a second. "We didn't even know her... We shouldn't take up space for grieving that could be used for someone who really knew her."

"squirrelpaw? " Goldenpaw exclaimed. He sniffed the air, indeed smelling squirrelpaw. he and squirrelpaw, he remembered, had been in the nursery around the same time, though he didn't feel any more grief for her than he did anyone else. He watched as everyone had crowded her, but he felt only her closest should be by her side, and he hadn't really ever talked to the apprentice unless it was very important. He remembered, that the only person he had grieved for and sat vigil with was his mother, Nightlight. He remembered staying awake, most other cats around him, but he was the only apprentice or kit.

Sorrelpaw's curled ears flatten against her head as yet another dead cat was brought into camp. Fear constricts her chest. Was it a bad idea joining? Am I going to die? Why are so many cats dying?!

Wavekit mewls softly at her coughing siblings, making an annoyed face and curling closer to her sister.

Goldenpaw could smell sorrelpaws fear scent and walked up to her. "hey." he said. "its not everyday this many people die. Don't worry. I guess... I guess the attacks were kinda hard on us." he said, his fur blowing in the wind.
Silverkit, being adventurous, tried to make her way through the gap in the den outside.

Blueheart looked at Squirrelpaws direction in horror Another cat id sown, why? he thought to himself his ears flat on his head. He didn't want more cats to die. He was scared that their clan would also get destroyed if things kept up like this.

Dustpaw closed his eyes when he smelled death, he didn't want to see it, no more cat could be dead. He heard cats say Squirrelpaws name but he foced himself not to open his eyes. Loosing Bramblewhisker and Foxstripe had been enough, now an apprentice too?

Otterkit moved closer to his sisters who were calmly sleeping in hopes of avoiding any siblings that were batting at him. He snuggeled up to them and fell asleep.

Florian woke up alone on the sofa. His twolegs had left for work and now he had to be alone for the rest of the day. Mainly he sat by the mirror and admired himself. "This collar is amazing" he mewed happily and kept looking at himself.

Ashpaw slowly look up at the leader, his eyes full of grief. Ashpaw opened his mouth to try and answer Fernstars question but not a sound came out. A minute of silence followed before he took a deep breath. "I don't..know what happened to...to..Squirrelpaw" his voice cracked and you could easily tell he was on the verge of tears. The tom paused before continuing with "I couldn't find her anywhere...so Silentstream and I went to go and look for her. When we found her she was in a pool of her own blood and I think she reopend the wound in her tail then...lost to much blood" tears started falling from his eyes as he spoke. "If only I had found her sooner..." He almost whispered, his tone full of anger. The grieving apprentice then fell silent and refused to talk to anyone.

We've lost another cat haven't we? The she cat thought to herself. She could tell before the death smell hit her and the sight of Squirrelpaw's lifeless body. The air was filled with sadness and pain. The clan had lost way to many cats in such a short space of time. Dawnflower looked towards Ashpaw. The small apprentice seemed to have had a strong friendship with the desceased apprentice and a wave of saddness washed over her when she heard his pain filled voice explain what had happened. The warrior said a silent prayer to Starclan the slowly sat down.

The shecat watched Squirrelpaw's body before whispering." I'm sorry... We weren't actually friends but you shouldn't die like this..." Berrypaw saw Goldenpaw and Sorrelpaw so she went to sit with them,not wishing to take the space as she didn't feel like grieving." Sorrelpaw, are you okay?" The ginger apprentice asked when she saw that something was not good with the other apprentice.

( I am gonna cry if anymore cats will die... Poor Ashpaw.)

Sorrelpaw shook her head, panic in her eyes. Nonononononono. It can't happen again. Not here. Not now. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out the world, trying to stem the memories. "Is any clan I join cursed to die?" She mews horsely to Berrypaw.
