I just noticed that the pound account literally has thousands of pets in it so much that pages for pets without a group go on forever. So i think this change was because of the overflow.

Also noticed another change that I haven't found mentioned anywhere but the ages of the pets are displayed differently now. It used to say something like 1384 days ago but now it says something like June- 2013.
It's a wonderful change to the adoption limit though. Makes things quite easier.
