Ashton Kyte
panromantic asexual | experimental | 30% grizzly, 10% crow | group five | Alex
Ash looked up at the mountains, which did seem to be considerably closer, and nodded. "Yeah, you're right. We still have a ways to go, though." Hopefully, they'd make it there before dawn. If not, would they keep traveling during the day or would they have to find a place to bunker down while the sun was shining? He glanced at Alex, then brought it up. "But, what if we don't get there before the night's over? Do you think we would be able to keep walking during the day?"
Emily Roberts
bisexual | natural | 21% Steller's jay | group three | Zyr
Emily huffed at Zyr's comment, but followed her instructions and managed not to step on any more cacti. However, she didn't heed her advice to keep her head down; although she had to admit that to do so would be smart if she wanted to avoid tripping over rocks or stepping on cacti, she would rather keep her eyes on the outcrop on the horizon, which they seemed to be approaching rather quickly. Besides this logical enough reason, hubris likely played into it as well, at least a little. The bird girl only walked with her head held high.
"Alrighty, once we get to the shelter, I'm gonna need you to follow behind me. It's kinda a narrow path up there once we get to those rocks, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to navigate it blind." Nonetheless, if she did trip and fall, at least she'd be falling onto Zyr instead of tumbling down the outcrop. Hopefully if that did happen, the kitty wouldn't claw her to death.
After a few more minutes of carefully picking her way across the desert floor, Emily looked up at the tumble of large reddish stones that now stood before them. "Well, here we are! Um, the trail up should be somewhere around here..." She put her hands on the sandy stone in front of her and slowly limped along it, quickly coming to where it ended. She cautiously kicked at the gap between rocks with her good foot, and upon hearing the crunch of the brush she'd hit, nodded in satisfaction. "Yep, this is it." Carefully stepping over the spiky, dry bush, she entered the small gap in the tumble and, taking a step back for Zyr to fit, looked back at the feline expectantly.
Eva Deichmann
bisexual | experimental | 45% Peary caribou | domestic | Bae & L
Eva frowned slightly as L mentioned that the scientists wanted her to beat up a domie. They wouldn't really have her do that, would they? Surely, no scientist was that mad, right? Shaking her head, she took a few quick steps to catch up with Bae, glancing back at the other domestic for a moment. Seeing the feelers slowly moving in their direction, she lowered her ears and and turned back to look ahead.
Once Bae had asked if she were alright, she nodded in response but still looked troubled. "You... You don't think she's actually supposed to beat up a domie, r-right?" She asked, this new problem pushing her other worries back a bit. "I-I mean, I know that the lab does some awful things, but they wouldn't do that... Would they?"
