She made it all by herself, and she is very proud!
Why:
Charlie really loves her father and of course since it was Father's Day, she had to show him how much she loved him!! She also really wants a puppy and had to show that to her dad too. She's been begging for months. Her dad even bought a dog breed book and she fell in love with all sorts of breeds.

David sat up in his bed and broke out into a toothy grin as his child handed her present to him.
"Boy, am I gifted!" He winked and took the card in his hands, making sure to read it over twice.

No puns? A terrible punishment. It was a doggone shame that he couldn't express himself freely,
but he didn't mind. And then Charlie pulled out another present from behind her back - a green paper
tie. His favorite color!
Taking a piece of tape, he attached the work of art to his neck. Then he picked Charlie up and spun her around.
"My little baby, you're so creative. Thank you for the gifts, I love them! I hope it doesn't disappoint you, buuut...
I have something for you, too."
Charlie was shocked. She gasped in surprise. It was father's day, not daughter's day! Why would she get a gift?
"Ooh!! What is it?" the child asked as her dad set her down. Inside, she hoped it was a dog, but she was certain
she wouldn't get one. And so she kept quiet, bouncing in anticipation.
"Stay here, okay? Just for one second." Charlie nodded. "When I come back, scream chocolate REALLY loudly.
As loud as you can." Charlie nodded again. Padding across the floor, David made his way to the garage, where
his surprise was waiting on a blanket. He brought it into the house and set it on the ground. "I'm ready! Scream now!"
Charlie screamed with all her might. Her arms went back and she closed her eyes. When she was done, and her eyes
opened, she was hit by a giant object that knocked her over and began licking her face.
Why:
David may make enough puns to drown everybody in the world, but he can catch when someone's being serious. He's
always wanted to raise his daughter with an animal, but with dealing with her other dad and then working out the
divorce papers, it had never been the right time. And now it was. One of his work friends had been talking about
an 'oops' litter on his farm, and there was no way he could have missed the opportunity.
