ouch.
reaching a hesitant hand up to tenderly graze her hairline, asariel blinked, her lips tugging down in a frown. what were these odd sensations rushing through her? and how was one to make them stop? she didn't like them very much, they caused her... pain. furrowing her brows, asa brought her hand infront of her face, a small gasp escaping from her parted lips. sticky red liquid was smeared on the tips of her slender fingers. blood? the fallen angel's eyes widened, her head tilting back to gaze up at the inky sky above. twinkling balls of light laced the upper atmosphere - the heavens - also known as her former home.
asa crossed her legs in front of her, sitting indian style as she stared ahead with still-furrowed brows, recollections of the other day coming back in hazy memories. the other angels, herself included apparently, had been cast down from heaven, forced to live among humanity because some idiot decided it was a good idea to betray the creator of mankind and think he could get away with it. wait. did that mean..
it was all the ex-angel could do to stop herself from crying out as she twisted around, her eyes falling upon her empty upper back, stripped of her magnificent wings. she was human. how could that be? was that even possible? well, of course it was possible. the big man upstairs was capable of anything- sending the group of them down here and stripping them of their grace was probably considered child's play in his eyes.
asariel's eyes scanned the landscape around her, fascination and wonder causing them to widen the longer she looked. she was really on earth, among real humans. asariel had always been amazed with humans, their emotions, their mortality. and their world.. it was nothing less than beautiful in it's own, imperfect way. it seemed that she had fallen in some kind of field, a few trees scattered here and there among the expansive stretch of land. it was night time, which explained the utter lack of human activity. there were some buildings in the distance - houses, she guessed. the fallen angel had vague inklings of the human world, as she and aster both took a particular interest in it and had spent many hours whispering among each other the wonders of all it beheld. her knowledge did not go far, however, and she could not help but feel small and even a bit frightened. maybe if she could make her way to one of those houses, a human would help her? surely they wouldn't mind.
asa heaved herself to her feet, taking note of the odd aching sensation tugging at her muscles. she had never experienced pain before, and it was actually pretty miraculous. all of these emotions and feelings, they baffled and excited the small brunette. she wanted to feel all of them, every single one, just to experience them and the emotions that came with. a cool breeze blew across the field, ruffling the blades of grass around her and sending small shivers down her spine. the fact that she was naked never once bothered her- she was always naked, why should it matter now? but something twinged in her gut, causing her to bite her lip. was it embarrassment? maybe she should be covering herself? the night was pretty chilly, after all.
as she began to make her way towards the group of houses asa's mind wandered once again towards the other angels that had fallen. aster! where was he?! surely he was okay and was not experiencing pain, as she had? was he finding the human world as baffling as she? surely he was, if anyone was to appreciate earth it was aster. a small smile laced her lips as asariel reached the houses, her feet stepping off of the grass onto a less favorable terrain. it hurt the bottoms of her feet as she walked. there was that pain again. maybe the feeling wasn't as miraculous as she had so recently thought.
alright asa, just pick a house and go ask for assistance. moving her head in a small nod asariel waltzed up the driveway of one of the houses, coming to stand in front of what she assumed was the entrance. picking up her small hand she rapped upon the door, her knuckles coming in contact repeatedly with the door's wooden countenance. then she stepped back, awaiting for it to open and allow her entrance. the door swung outward, revealing the frame of a human girl. "hi!" asa piped up, suddenly feeling quite giddy that she was actually interacting with a real life human. "it seems as if i have fallen from the sky and am in need of some assistance. may i please be allowed entrance into your dwelling?"

keira chuckled at his word choice. what was this guys deal? he was so strange. he obviously wasnt from anywhere around here. then it dawned on her, the strange way he talked, him being naked in the park. he was confused about everything. he was an alien! she was suddenly excited. she knew there were pther beings out there, there was no way they were the only ones in this vast universe. he is totally an alien. there is no way this guy is just a normal person she thought and bit her lip, glancing at him.
keira thoughts were fumbling and tumbling through her brain until she realized that ezra was talking to her. she tuned in just in time to hear what he was saying. gosh this guy is weird she thought and ran her fingers through her hair then ruffled her curls. "its just up ahead." she said and offered a sweet smile. keir then remembered her loft wasnt the cleanest thing. there were photographs from projects on her coffee table, clothes from her ex boyfriend in a clothes hamper in a corner, socks on the floor. her room was a disaster but she doubt he would go in there.
when they reached her loft, she opened the door and let him in. she then led him down the halls to the elevator. keria pulled up the elevator door then pressed her floor level. "okay, my living room is a little messy. just kick whatever is in your way out of the way. except for my puppy penelope. she wouldnt appreciate that." she joked and laughed lightly. she tapped her foot as the elevator slowly went up to the third floor. when it stopped, she then went pulled up the door and stepped out. keira pulled out her keys and walked down the hall until she reached her door. "welcome to my home." keira opened the door and walked in.
keira went to the bathroom and got her nursing supplies. "just sit anywhere you like." she called as she gathered her things. keke pulled out her phone and texted one of her upmost best friends, zaria, found a guy naked in the park. he is super attractive & i think he is an alien. wish me luck? c;. keira knew zar would think she was insane but she honestly just wanted to see her reaction. zaria was like a sister to her. but, keira also had a small crush on the artistic tattoo artist but she would never tell her. when she was sure she found everything she needed, she left the bathroom and went back to her guest. "so, if there isnt too much damage to your hand, i can find you some actual clothes and we can reak havoc on the town. youll forget all about your... interesting morning" keira said and smirked.
she went to the kitchen and wet a towel with cold water. she returned and gently took avi hand in hers. she began to carefully clean in it to see how bad the cuts were. "so where exactly are you from?" she question with a slight raise of her left brow. she glanced up at him as she gingerly cleaned his wounds and inspected the condition of his hand. she thought it was a really bad sprain but then again, she dropped out of nursing school after the first year so she wasnt completely sure. she heard a familiar barked and instantly went to searching. she smiled when her light brown beagle puppy appeared. keira watched as she sniffed and licked her new guest. "she likes you." she offered a grin then went back to treating the damage the stranger had obviously inflicted on himself

SERAPHINA
─────── ⊰ ❣ ⊱ ───────
❣❣❣ gradually yet all at once seraphina fell from the sky, her wings doing little to aid the descent. gravity soon became her ultimate enemy as it slammed her into a road, wings first, just outside of a quaint coffee shop. upon collision, spots began to cloud her vision just as a crowd began to form around the fallen angel. the mixed hues of the night sky and its spotted stars soon faded to blackness as sera lost consciousness.
❣❣❣ ───
❣❣❣ blinding light devices flashed her vision as she woke to the sight of mortals surrounding her. some held large gadgets, while others held smaller ones, both with the distinctive lights. a tall, strange male (a news reporter) in what appeared to be a constricting compilation of fabrics turned towards her and held out a strange tool resembling a sphere attached to a cylinder (a microphone). "you're here with the latest news where it seems like a young, naked girl has apparently fallen from the sky." he said, before asking, "hello ma'am, what is your name and how did you get here?" a quizzical expression plastered on his face. seraphina shot him a look of her own, her eyes shooting daggers as her previously suppressed emotions began to rage.
❣❣❣ she turned towards the crowd, a look of anger and frustration across her face as she forced herself off the ground. "can't you see my wings, you fools?" she hissed as she gestured to her own, although torn up, "i am an angel! how dare you inferiors look at me like otherwise and treat me with such disrespect!" but before she could continue reprimanding the earthlings, a recollection of her copious reading made its way into her mind. humans are unable to see angels, let alone their wings. it was as if she was slammed all the way down to hell as she soon realized that she was a human as well. she involuntarily fell to the pavement for the second time today, her knees hitting the ground with a significant thud. a yelp of pain was swallowed as sera curled into herself, tears streaming down her cheeks as a pit of vulnerability formed within her chest.
❣❣❣ she was nothing.
❣❣❣ all of her time as a devoted angel of god, for what? to be falsely accused of an act that a shame of an angel committed? to be banished to earth for he knows how long? god had been scorned, and everyone was paying repercussions because of it, even the big man himself; he was without his precious angels (seraphina in particular) and the angels were on earth living among the mortal peasants. how dare she be condemned to earth after such devoted loyalty? after reading nearly every scrap of parchment in the clouds just to be knowledgeable and as qualified as possible for any mission she was assigned, this was the treatment she received? the weakness within her soon turned into a wildfire spreading through her human body. but the rage had yet to be assigned a purpose, was it directed at god of the angel who had betrayed him?
❣❣❣ the crowd that had previously confined her dulled to a few wanderers, the man with the circle-based device long gone. everyone drifted off their separate ways and back to their empty lives, typical for the notoriously selfish species. however, one stayed. she stood just outside of a small building with another cylinder in hand, but this time it did not feature a sphere on top and seemed to be emitting small clouds. she dusted off her bare skin as she made her way towards the stranger before saying, "hello mortal, you may call me seraphina. how will you assist me in my new environment?"

keira evelyn smith (location)home(feeling)wary (tagged)avi
keira was honestly baffled by how serious he seemed to be. does he really think i meant to actually wreak havoc in the city?... it then dawned on her that she had stopped what she was doing and instead were staring deep into a magnificent pair of silver eyes. she swallowed and went back to treating his wound. "no i meant... go out and have an adventure, ya know, have some fun?... i didnt mean to literally destroy the city.." she uttered, barely above a whisper. she became wary of him in that moment. his voice was so strong and commanding, she didnt really want to go out anymore.
keira focused on the wound. now that it was all clean, it didnt look all that awful. so she wrapped it up, after applying a couple of creams so he didnt get an infection. she then released his hand and tucked a loose curl behind her ear, never meeting his eye. what was this guys problem? she didnt know but she was going to figure out. she had to. he was way too strange to not do some investigating. he obviously had no phone, probably no place to live. great. she would offer any help that he needed, whether he took it or not was up to him. keira wouldnt force him to stay if he didnt want to, but the least she could do was offer.
there is no way this guy is from canada she thought but smiled anyways. "oh my gosh! i love lake canada! its so fun there! its really hot though. you know, you are pretty far from there. its down in brazil right?" genius. just genius. this was how she was going to catch him. if he didnt correct her, she knew what she had to do. bust him. keira was great at geography. she knew that canada was a country and that it was north of the US. brazil and canada were basically on opposite sides of the world. if he didnt, then he was either really dumb or just not human. the girl couldnt help but smirk. she really just wanted to laugh but held it in.
"showers are typically inside sir. i didnt know showers were outside at lake canada." she said then raised an eyebrow. oh how she wanted to laugh but she couldnt. she couldnt blow her cover. keira excused herself then went to her room. she came back with towels and clothes for the gentlemen. "i dont know if these are your style but these are my ex's. the boxers are new, i just took them out the package. the bathroom is down the hall, first door on your right. thats this way," she pointed her thumb in that direction, showing him. he probably didnt even know which way it was. "enjoy."
keira then started to clean. the living room that is. she picked up the clothes that were in there and put them in the wash. she took the few dishes that were dirty and put them in the dishwasher. keir then picked up some of her photography and put it on on the coffee table. i hate being so busy she thought and picked up what trash was on the floor. then, she went to her own room and changed her own clothes. they were wreaking havoc whether he liked it or not. she then had a great idea, he can be my muse she thought and grinned like the cheshire cat. it was genius. he was gorgeous she had skill. there was no way his pictures wouldnt sell. keira went back to the living room and scooped up penelope and sat at the counter. she opened her laptop and began looking through her photos and emails. today was going to be weird but that was something she was always down for. who wanted a normal life? not keira thats for sure. the girl had her quirks herself.
back on the alien theory, she googled "signs you are dealing with an alien". her results were surprising pleasing. confusion, check. strange behaviour, check. strange questions, check. weird saying and venacular, check. check, check, check. keira closed her laptop and held onto penelope. it was official.. ezra was an alien. she was honestly so excited. she would ask him so many questions when he got out the shower. she kissed the top of penelopes head. keir moved to the couch and sat down, resting her head on her hand and her elbow on her knee. it was about time something fun happened to her. she just hoped he wouldnt abduct her once she told him she knew what he was. keira laughed, it was like twilight except aliens and not vampires. she shook her head "what have you gotten yourself into keir?" she mumbled

ASTERAOTHxxxx
❛ THE TRAGICALLY FALLEN ❜xxxx
☙ ★ ❧xxxx
│
│└─────────────────┘
xxxxxx"oh my god. i need to get you to a hospital. something like that will not heal on its own. wait, what-" the man spoke fast and so asteraoth tried his best to listen very well and efficiently. his eyebrows worked wonders in expressing his curiosity. they arched quizzically at the mention of his side perhaps being more damaged than he'd originally thought, and even more confused, he mouthed the word hospital to himself, mimicking the human in utter confusion. asteraoth had no idea what a hospital was, but it seemed rather important if the tone of the other man's voice was anything to go by. so asteraoth just smiled dopily and let the earth dweller continue to talk. he spoke of many unfamiliar things. like clinics and then more importantly 'shorts'.
xxxx"shorts?" aster couldn't help but repeat dumbly, the foreign word strange falling from his lips. the other man placed the offending material into his hands and aster simply stared. he was expected to put these on? for what reason? perhaps humans did not like the idea of injuries showing. maybe it made the angel appear weak. asteraoth held the fabric up before him. it was practically a rectangle, though there were three cut outs and the material stretched when he tugged on the waistband. unsure how to go about putting them on, aster daintily put one leg in first allowing the other to follow. they fit snugly, the fabric cool against his skin. curious, he took a few steps forward before spinning around to back up beside the man again. meeting the man's eyes with his own, asteraoth grinned with conviction, his dimples shining, "these are delightful!!" he chirped enthusiastically, marveling the way they clung to his hips, "i truly believe these are the greatest human invention yet!! i cannot fathom how this thin layer of fabric somehow stays up all on its own!! remarkable!"
xxxxenthused, the angel hurried to pull the remaining bit of fabric he'd been given over his head. he figured it must be a similar item to what the human had covering his chest. judging by the way it fit, aster had proudly been correct! the top was not as chilling against his skin as the shorts, but it did hang loosely, practically covering half of his thighs (lol aster is really short c':). the angel was again enchanted. "i have outright lied to you, for this is perhaps the most beautiful invention of humanity!" he said, gesturing to the piece of clothing. asteraoth could have gone on forever about how splendid these new things were, in fact he could have spoken in circles long enough to circumvent all of rome, but suddenly the human was speaking. effortlessly, he had all of aster's attention at once as though it had always belonged to him.
xxxx"put your arm around my neck, and you can lean into me if you need to." the man sounded so genuine that the angel wasted no time carving a space for himself in his side. he fit naturally, as though it had been predetermined he'd one day need this, that he'd one day have a human who so perfectly finished his puzzle. asteraoth was very careful not to rely on the man too much though, no matter how much the pain in his side was growing to be intolerable. "what's your name? do you have any family i can call to come get you?"
xxxx"ah! yes! pardon my improper etiquette! my name is asteraoth, he who thwarts power. i don't suppose you have a name yourself?" aster wasn't sure how to respond in regard to his family. his father had forsaken him, cast him aside. as surreal as it was, the angel decided to simply ignore that part of the question. nothing gained, nothing lost. or perhaps that wasn't how the saying went.
xxxxwhen he turned back to the human, he was gob smacked. his hero of a man looked impeccably deep in thought; his forehead creased with wrinkles and his eyes squinted in something akin to determination. the sight it made was truly impressive and asteraoth was again filled with more things he could not comprehend. he wanted nothing more than to simply reach out and gingerly smooth the lines marring his companion's face. so he did, because if for some reason he felt the urge so strongly, then it must be something he was designed to do. quickly and easily, he swiped a hand across the other's face until his forehead smoothed and the angel was satisfied. and if asteraoth puffed his chest out a little further with pride concerning his hard work, well, it was nobodies business but his.
xxxxstill using the man for support, aster decided he did not like walking on earth, it took a very long time and was beginning to plague aster as tedious. it felt as though they'd been walking for ages! additionally, the earth's surface was rough to the touch. if it were not so impolite to complain, asteraoth would be openly marveling the pain of his feet and how earth was so unexpectedly unpleasant to walk across despite what its splendid embellishings lead one to assume. it made the pads of his feet burn unfamiliarly. then, almost as if the man had read his mind, he turned to him and offered the things called 'shoes' which had been covering his feet to the angel. with a profuse litany of thank you's, asteraoth jammed his feet into what he was given.
xxxxfeet sated, there was only one thing left on aster's mind as his continued to gape in awe at every new thing they passed on their impromptu journey: "hm, pardon me, but what actually is this hospital we are venturing towards?"

── DOMINIQUE WOLFHART ──
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
( male ) ( nineteen ) ( human ) ( location: hospital ) ( tags: aster )
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Dominique had watched with slight amusement as the angel seemed so amazed by a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. It was like the man had never worn anything like it. He was basically in love with the inventions of humanity, as the angel had put it. Though, he did note that Aster was speaking of humans like he was not one himself, but he figured it was due to the alcohol affecting his brain. He was all for supernatural creatures existing, but he could never believe in something like that actually existing. However, that never helped him when he was alone at night. He always allowed those crazy thoughts to affect him and make him even more scared than he already was.
"Asteraoth? I've never heard of someone with a name like that." He spoke, his eyebrow lifting when he added onto his name. He who thwarts power? This guy was amusing yet mad at the same time. "I'm Dominque Wolfhart, but most people just call me Dom." He introduced himself to the angel. He noted that the man did not tell him about his family. He wondered if he could not remember his family right now, or he was not comfortable telling him. Either way, he decided not to push him for an answer. He was sure the nurses and doctors would ask him once they reached the hospital. Perhaps the hospital even had a record for him that they could pull up.
He had snapped out of his thoughts when he felt a hand brush along his face. He was surprised that the man was trying to smooth out the lines on his forehead. "Uh.." He mumbled, giving the man a curious look. The man seemed pleased with himself for smoothing out the lines on his face. He was unsure why Aster had done that, and he was not sure if he wanted to ask. "Why did you do that?" He inquired, deciding to ask why this drunken man had touched his face. He hoped that Aster's hands had not been covered in dirt since he had fallen into a bush. There was nothing he could do now though. The deed had been done, and his face had been touched by a strange man named Asteraoth.
Once he had given the man his shoes, he continued their journey to the hospital. He was more careful when he was walking as he did not want to step on pebbles. At least his feet were not getting dirty, but the bottom of his white socks were. He had picked a bad day to bring white socks instead of his black or colorful and fun socks. However, he would deal with the dirty socks and slight pain whenever he stepped on a pebble. He was simply glad to be able to help an injured man. He wondered how many people had walked by the same bush and ignored him. He guessed not many since it was late at night and no one had been at the park.
He focused his attention on the attractive man that he was helping. He wanted to know what hospital he was being taken to, at least, that what he thought he was asking him. "Ah, you know, Cedar Bay Hospital." He answered, looking ahead to see the building in front of them. As they reached the front doors, he pushed them open and quickly asked for help. A short nurse from behind the counter hurried over to help bring Aster to a room where he would be treated.
── CHARMEINE ──
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
( female ) ( twenty ) ( angel ) ( location: meadow ) ( tags: zaria )
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
When Charmeine opened her eyes, her eyes were directed to the night sky. The angel winced quietly as she turned on her side to curl up in a ball. Goosebumps appeared on her bare skin when a cold brush of air swept by her, and a shudder went down her spine. She felt as if she was in the same situation as Adam and Eve when they sinned and lost their clothing. The angel wanted to hide in the tall grass and never make an appearance to the world. She was ashamed and embarrassed. Even though she was not the one to commit the sin, she still felt the side affects of being guilty. Slowly, she sat up and wrapped her arms around her knees. She lifted her head to the sky, a pitiful look on her face. "I'm so sorry." She whispered, feeling tears build up in her eyes. She blinked in surprise, unwrapping an arm from around her knees to lift a hand to her cheek. She wiped away a tear and held her finger out to look at the wet substance on her pointer finger. She knew what emotions were, but she had never experienced them at this extent. The angel of harmony gave a small sniffle, feeling tears drift down her cheeks. A sob formed in her chest, a painful knot in her throat as she held in the sob. She knew that she should not be upset, but she was. The Father would not want her to sit here and cry until she was taken back to heaven. She needed to do something to prove herself that she was worthy of returning. Wiping her arm across her face, she removed most of the tears that had fallen. Slowly, she rose to her feet and nearly stumbled due to pain in her left leg. Another new sensation that she had never experienced: pain. She was unsure how humans healed themselves, so she sat back on the grass and wrapped her arms around her head. She released a sigh, her eyes squeezing shut. She was at a lost on what to do.
Suddenly, she heard some movement in the distance. She lifted her gaze to see a human approaching her. Despite her situation, she gave the girl a soft smile. The human asked if she was okay, and she was unsure how to answer. She kept silent for a moment to examine the girl avert her gaze then removed her jacket to place it on her shoulders. The angel was relieved to have some warmth on her bare body. She grabbed the front of the jacket to pull it more toward her body. "I don't think I am? My leg hurts." She explained, stretching out her injured leg to show that it was scrapped up from the fall. Other than that, she did not sustain too many injuries. Her elbows were scrapped up as well, but her left leg was the worst. "I'm Charmeine." She added, shifting her legs underneath her to try to stand up again. She wobbled slightly, but she managed to stand up right. She licked her lips and cleared her throat, realizing how dry her mouth felt.

❝ ZARIA MOREAU !!
⋯⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯⋯ ⋯⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯⋯ ⋯⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯ ⋯⋯
species. human location. meadow tagged. charmeine
as the woman in the field looked up at zaria, she decided it was an understatement to say that
the stranger was beautiful. she had a short cut of flaxen hair redolent of the golden wheat of a prairie
and deep blue eyes that shone azure shades of the ocean. the familiar urge to paint crept up her right
hand, still grasping the wooden handle of the paintbrush, but she dismissed the feeling quickly. it was
rare that zaria ever experienced such an overwhelming desire to paint; her muse for that was few and
far between. additionally on the off chance she did discover a muse, she usually lost interest rapidly.
"i don't think i am, my leg hurts" the blonde girl spoke, and zaria felt a rush of relief fall
over her. if she had been severely injured, her queasy tendencies would have gotten the better of her,
rendering her unconscious. secondly, if she was forced to call 911 and attempt to explain her bizarre
situation, zaria feared they'd think she was on drugs. zaria's chocolate eyes curiously peered to examine
the scrape on the woman's leg. she crouched down; it didn't appear to be anything life-threatening, but
she thought it would be safer to clean it soon. "your leg looks okay to me," zaria said with a calm
smile "nothing serious, luckily. what the dark-haired painter failed to understand was how the
blonde stranger could survive a fall from such heights, unscathed. it wasn't the time to interrogate an
injured person, however.
lifting her gaze up from the wound on her leg, zaria heard the girl introduce herself. "im zaria," the
artist greeted her as another smile spread over her lips, "my apartment is nearby, and I can let you borrow
some of my clothes, if that's okay" she explained to charmeine as she absolutely would not let her roam
around the city in the nude. noticing that she was struggling to stand up, the raven-haired girl let the blonde
steady herself by placing a hand around her shoulder gently. more ragged scrapes were revealed, scattered
across her elbows, as the blonde girl extended her arms, and zaria's hazelnut eyes narrowed in inspection
carefully; the wounds weren't grave, but they were numerous. "ill also have to patch you up at home too.
you're pretty scratched up. zaria added as she helped keep the large jacket blanketed on charmeine' shoulders.
acting as sort of a makeshift crutch for charmeine, zaria assisted in slowly walking her through the now down trodden
blossoms and fresh viridescent grass to the little painting station she had hurriedly set up only a short while ago.
"sorry, let me just clean this up-" the brunette said as she helped charmeine steady herself before carefully
taking down her canvas, brushed with sundry colors, folding up her timber painting stand and stashing them in
her coarse cotton bag. slinging it over she left shoulder unceremoniously, she flashed a little smile at the blonde
girl and proceeded to assist charmeine in stabilizing herself on zaria once again. "my apartment is just a little
ways farther, in the city" zaria said to her, motioning to the radiant skyline ahead. it was too bad she didn't
have a chance to paint such a beautiful landscape, especially washed over in molten silver moonlight, but she
would have more opportunities to do so. although she was a bit disappointed, the mysterious fair haired girl
piqued zaria's interest and she was intrigued to find out who she was and how she got here.

Some merely extinguished with a single hunt. Others, so cataclysmic and fraught, that it revolutionized both heaven and Earth in ways so great; utterly impactful with destructions and ravage deaths. He had engaged with merciless tactics in the field and followed every order, every demand that ever escaped a superior's lips as precisely as he could. No doubts or contemplation could be afforded during these times, and with his undying loyalty, he dove right into the heavenly wars without question. For it was all God's word, as he was taught it would be. His purpose was to be the best soldier of the lord he could ever achieve. He had watched his brothers and sisters perish before him, and then only felt a fragment of grief for it was never known for an angel to feel such vivid emotions. And yet, despite all his training and all that he has seen throughout the thousands of years he has lived, nothing had prepared him for this.
It all came coursing through him like a relentless river. Waves of crushing darkness engulfing his chest to a point where the boy had managed to tilt his head back in a silent cry. Despair. Pain. Emptiness. The absence of his wings so excruciatingly hollow. Sharp aches like static pinches ran along his body, and it was then in which an epiphany flooded his mind. Angels never endured pain. He had never perceived these kinds of emotions, his senses had never been so different, so lucid. His wide blue eyes tore open, gaze distorted and head spinning in an uncontrollable blurr. Michael blinked, once, twice, until his vision cleared, and the constriction against him from where he lay, condensed. This was not the beautiful celestial reign in which he had grown in, called his home since the angel's beginning. No, the hazed outline of buildings against the sky and the horrid stench of rotting food enveloping his nose was no where near the perfection of heaven.
He was on Earth.
Michael lifted his head from the cool, damp ground, grunting as ache throbbed everywhere imaginable. His gaze flickered over his bare vessel, mouth parted with a numbing pang, making it much harder to breathe. He propped himself up with an elbow, slowly investigating a hand with ambivalence flashing through his new body. His chest heaved with short, strained breaths, and the blood sickly drained from his cheeks. Panic. This could not be happening. Michael's shot up onto his feet with a start, overestimating himself, and stumbling toward a brick wall as his surroundings spun startling fast. The fallen angel's crazed wide eyes flickered wildly around the narrow alleyway. Had he done something wrong? How could he do something wrong? All he ever did was obey God and his superiors. He did all that was asked without a second thought. Michael had been loyal, the most he could ever be. Each action and each decision he had ever taken was for the good of humanity and the good of heaven itself. So how could he be walking on Earth? It wasn't fair, none of this.
He leaned against the scabrous brick, ragged sighs seeping from his dry lips. Michael sniffed, nose wrinkling with the foul smell of litter. The boy ran a hand over his face, and at once pulled away in a double take. He examined his fingers, shocks of confusion surging through him. The soot on his fingers were smudged, they were wet. His brows furrowed, and he reach toward his cheeks with tender prods. His face was damp. This must be what the humans did when their emotions struck them overwhelming, crying. He stared in awe. This was not what he expected; the rush of countless sentiments tingling through him was like nothing he has ever experienced. And, he was definitely not a fan. Michael hated the way it made him feel: vulnerable, exposed, weak. And that's when it dawned on him: He shouldn't be the only angel walking amongst people.
"Zephyrne," he rasped. One of his closest friends, a like sister even, he took her close to heart. And she was out there, alone and nude. Although he had watched over humans, they didn't have his entire trust, especially to take care of her. Even though he knew that she was indeed very strong, he did know for a fact that wherever she had fallen, her sheer curiosity is very capable of getting her into trouble. He just had to find her. Together, at least, they wouldn't be alone in the foreign land.
Heaven held it's own burst celestial colors and vibrant shines, but when he had first stepped out of the alley way, his breath caught on his throat. Yes, his home was absolutely beautiful with breath taking views, but this was surreal. Buildings towered over him, outlined against the sky in silhouettes. Brilliant warm lights of amber and indefinite whites flickered warmly in the distance. The corners of his mouth twitched into a small smile. Maybe, just maybe, when he finds Z, being here might not be as bad as he thought it would be.
Michael took his first steps out into public, his eyes involuntarily soaking in every detail he could. Everything in this perspective was indeed quite fascinating. Humans were very strange, and certainly interesting to observe, but that wasn't his case at the moment. As much as he would like to stay and watch, he had to find his friend. As he trotted through the sidewalk, he had noticed passersby send him disgusted looks, but he thought nothing of it. He was comfortable in the nude, and didn't feel the need to cover up with cloth as they do. Michael approached a fairly modern building of brick with a cursive white font across a wooden board spelling: Cafe. His gaze scanned the area, and was quite surprised to find a few humans quietly drinking from paper cups or conversing with low voice. He spotted a female human sitting on a bench, reading a book open against her lap and sipping from a white mug, the musky scent of coffee pleasing against his nose as he stared at her, transfixed.
