The Sheik are a forest dwelling clan who are extraordinarily superstitious, they believe in several Gods and Goddesses who protect and watch over their people. When a child is born into the Sheki clan they are gifted with a wolf pup, which is their ‘soul’. The Sheki believe that is either the wolf or human are killed than the other must die to allow the person to join the Gods and Goddesses in the eternal hunt. Another common idea that the clan all share is that when a human and a wolf are truly connected the human can place themselves into the wolf body and see the world through their eyes- but that’s just a myth… Clan members of the Sheki are trained in close combat, they use a multitude of blades but rarely use any ranged weapons since it is a tool used for hunting and not fighting. Their members a very skilled trackers and have an extensive knowledge of herbs and the land but know little about social customs and are known as the most animal like of the big clans. If a leader is challenged for their position the fight is always hand to hand combat and doesn’t end till one of the two is dead.

Aversa grew up just like any clan ‘pup’, she was taught how to hunt, track and the basics of fighting as soon as she was able to stand. Being the deputy’s daughter also had its perks; she was trained to craft poisons and learned what herbs could be used to heal. However when she came of age she was sent away to train as a shield sister- boy did she howl and cry on the trip there.
Whilst at the training camp Aversa focused mostly on learning the languages of other tribes as well as little bits of other languages from across the sea. She is skilled with a small blade but anything bigger and she became as bout as useful as a walruses with no limbs. She made a number of allies whilst there thanks to her herbal abilities- mostly creating sleeping draughts for nightmares or sewing up wounds.

Now she and her wolf travel with the other six shield maidens, she always dreamed of leaving the cold desolate island she lived on to venture out and explore the world with her wolf and now it’s finally happening.
