xxxxxxGwen isn’t one for first impressions, as most of the time, people immediately label her as rude and grumpy. However, this is something she just can’t help; Her resting face isn’t friendly and because she’s almost always tired, her reactions tend to be grunts or irritated groans. Not only that, but she’s rather quiet. She’s never done much socialization, neither as a child or now. She’s just an irritable person; It doesn’t take a lot to bother her. She recognizes this fact, and tries to keep calm but fails every time. On the bright side, she doesn’t act out, only angrily simmers in silence until the person get the hint.
xxxxxxOnce you get to know her, you’ll see that she’s just some goofy teen. She trips on everything and always spills her coffee. She snorts when she laughs and despite common belief among acquaintances, she is able to hold a decent conversation, as long as she’s had her cup of coffee. She’s particularly good at seeing people’s inner thoughts and emotions, but this skill isn’t often used. Gwen is also, maybe unsurprisingly, more impatient than she tends to let on.
xxxxxxGwen’s innermost side is a bit different; She makes a lot of very strange comments to herself regarding random things, and she’s a total space case. She gets majorly embarrassed very easily, but hides it well. She can’t help but to compare every aspect of herself to others, despite telling herself that she’s perfectly fine the way she is. Overall, Gwen isn’t as scary as she’s made out to be; Really, she just isn’t entirely sociable, but nonetheless she’s a cool, kind person.

xx☆ Watercoloring
Gwen isn’t much of an artist, whether it be writing, sculpting, or drawing. However, she
loves to pick up a paintbrush and slap it against a blank canvas. Her paintings are often
rather abstract and don’t always form proper objects; This is sometimes purposeful but
often not. She likes watercoloring because the paint bleeds in a way she can’t control,
therefore, she doesn’t blame herself for her messy artworks.
xx☆ Talking to Chris
Though she realizes this probably isn’t too healthy, she talks to Chris more than anyone
else. He listens better than anyone else and never disagrees with her. With Chris, Gwen
can be as open as she needs to be and she values that. She is very aware that Chris is a fish.
xx☆ Visiting Cafes and Bakeries
About half her free time is spent in any shop where she can get coffee or sweets. She’s
been to just about every such shop in town, and even a few out of a town. She has a
problem, but at least she realizes it.

Gwen is a total music geek when it comes to pop-rock.
It’s always been her favorite genre, and ever
since she was little, she’s always sung along with
her favorite songs. Just before hitting her teenage
years, she was told she actually had a half decent
voice, and ever since then she’s daydreamed about
wearing a cool outfit and singing her heart out on
stage, even though she doesn’t really react well in
crowds. She doesn’t wish to be famous, she just
wants to make a career out of singing, and if possible,
she’d love to learn guitar as well. She calls herself
“The Celestial Sea Star” but really hopes to find a
better title.

xxxxxTime slowed down. She couldn’t tell if she was crying as her head fell beneath the water, her
eyes wide open. Her throat burned as her lungs filled with water. A small, yellow fish swam directly
in front of her; She reached for it, but it swiftly ran from her. Her thrashing eventually stopped
when her limbs became too tired to continue fighting. Everything became darker, and she wasn’t
sure if this was because she was sinking deeper or because her eyes would no longer stay open.
xxxxxOpen sea. Endless water. Nothing but blue in every direction, menacing, ominous.
xxxxxWords of past echoed in her ears. “I’m a mermaid! Look at me swim!”
xxxxx“Don’t swim too far out, dear. It’s dangerous.”
xxxxxHer thoughts faded, her body became weightless.
xxxxxUnconsciousness washed over her.

xxxxxAwoken with a gasp, a look of terror over her face, Gwen clutched her chest. She calmed as
her gaze moved to her sheets, sliding off her bed. She sighed. With the nightmare over, she stood-
not wishing to sleep further- though the sky was only barely lit.
