    what was your first signature, and how much has changed since then?
    And- how has your styled differed since then?

    my first signature was this mess -
    Image
    i... i tried to fit images that were longer than 700px in it, haha!
    and i used the left left format from the start, not knowing there was an 'easier method'.

    my most recent signature is my current one - it's not my best work, though.
    thinking about it, my signatures have evolved quite a bit!
    i started from the format of just an image and then text.
    then, when ZeyDaan posted the drop-letter tutorial (thank god!!! saved my coding), i began abusing it...
    i realize that it's not always the best, so now i'm using the 'several-columns-in-a-column' style.

    it's hard to describe, really!
    i've got a whole timeline-ish of sigs here, though uvu

      oh no.

      what was your first signature?

      just looking at the coding itself makes me cringe.
      it was a junko enoshima signature with this lamely
      cropped picture of her and this terribly edited
      typography.

      Image

      omg that's so ugly haha, i don't even know
      what was i thinking.
      most recent sig is this one, probably one of my
      best works just because of jerome but
      idk. some people can't see the other part of it, my fav
      part tho.

      i asked this one user, i forgot who, on how to make a sig
      and they said to pm this person, again i forgot who but
      they're a coding legend. so i tried to make my own sig
      and it kinda work but i wasn't still satisfied so i went on
      digitally distinct and asked zeydaan and other users and
      poof. yay

      then i self-taught myself how to create the perfect gif,
      make interesting borders, how to 'render' an image etc.

      so idk, but i guess my style has changed quite harshly haha.

      oh and for the first two users that taught me, thank you so
      much. i really want to pm u and like, personally thank you.
      but searching through those old messages is going to be a pain.

A kind of mini amouncement. I have recieved all of your applications for the adopt a newbie program and all I need to do is put it together, once I get on computer to do so. Thank you all for your patience in this, it's truly appreciated!

        oh gosh, my first signature was this disaster, back when I didn't know what the frickidyfrack bbcoding was
        and I though it was all about image editing. yep. {my image editing hasn't really improved either :P}. I spent
        like three whole days on it and was super proud of myself {i still kind of am since that was my first time ever
        trying to make a proper coded signature}
        . How much has it changed? Well my most recent signature is my current
        one below, and I'm stupidly proud of it because I'm generally not one for splitting gifs, yet here we are. Anyway,
        as far as how much have I changed and how my style is different, i use a lot less image editing, like A LOT. I prefer
        to stick to making my coding look good and picking images that I can just stick in and they'll fit just like that.{yes,
        because I am just that lazy}
        . all of that aside, try to stick to bbcoding, yes, working on my image editing, also
        yes. stay as far away from gifs as possible, nope, I'm not smart enough for that. I pretty much taught myself how to
        make signatures, with a lot of help from the Digitally Distinct thread and some help from some other coders whom I
        knew prior to me trying to teach myself. {I might have also bought signatures and analyzed the coding, but, shush}

        I dare say my style has changed quite explicitly.

        and, yeah, here I am now. as far as image editing goes, this is probably the best my image editing gets.

My favorite part about coding is watching
everyones progress and seeing the
responses so far makes me so happy ;u;

I remember starting when signatures
really took off. Back in ye old days
you didn't know squat and had to figure
it all out by ur own self.

I also loving seeing some familiar
signatures hehehe

Before I answer the question what the heck... Everyones signature looks so much better than my first one >.<
it was a legit block of text.

Heyo I'm you friendly neighborhood deoxys desguised as a human, but you could just call me Nova! I'm a major Pokemon nerd who might tend to ramble if the subject is ever brought up. Seriously if I hear it I will fly through a window and then yel out, "DID SOMEONE SAY POKEMON?!" and yeah.
~Nova~

And- how has your styled differed since then?

Ah yes a time when I called myself Nova and considered myself a Deoxys. Then again looking at my signature now I'd say the only thing that's changed is my name and layout... But I mean I guess my style has changed a lot considering the fact that I have multiple different style signatures. I mean, LOOK AT THIS. I still find it kinda cringy that I used the basic left,right,center set up for a client, but that's really changed. And apparently a lot of people like the simple complex style... But I mean my point is my style is constantly changing cause I'm always trying something different.

    This... was my first decently coded signature. I've got another that is pretty much exactly the same, but instead of GIFs, I did line weaving on the brothers. So yeah - basic LRC formatting. Like some others, I focused more on image manipulation rather than actual coding. Nowadays, my personal signatures are getting better and better and more and more complex (which can be hard for clients' signatures). You can see me doing columns within columns (and I think it'd be cool to experiment with columns within columns within columns!) and using all kinds of new coding and image/GIF manipulation techniques that have really improved me and have brought me to where I am today. Not only have the various tutorials and my own experimenting helped me, but communicating with my peers and seeing what they're trying out has helped a ton as well. The signature that I am currently using was made right after the one pictured above (although I did start with a different almost everything, this was the end result) and shows what help from your peers and other experienced coders can do.
    If I were to give some advice, I would say to read the tutorials, experiment on your own a bit, and don't be afraid to ask for help/other coders' opinions.

    Seeing all of these signatures and the progress everyone has gone through since then is incredible! It's physical proof that we are all able to improve with practice! I am also really glad that I was able to help people along their journey in making signatures and graphics!

    I suppose I should answer the question for myself now, should I?

    Image
    My first signature I can't find, but I found this gem from early '14. The art theft is unreal, and the worst part is that I had only started my college course on Graphic Design that year and we wouldn't go over Art theft, copyright and fair use until June that year. It's insane.

    I have come so far I think. Or I like to think so. Hopefully I am not as aggressive as I once was with my words because man, I read those and feel like I am lecturing myself. Past me was an angry little kid.

Hallo, all! (: This recently caught my eye and I decided to join. So, yeah. I'm currently working on my newest signature, though I'm not very happy with the color scheme. xc And I have to change the text color... welp, it's almost done anyways. c:
