Plural: Tatsumi ✰ Singular: Tatsuma

A Tatsuma is a short, fluffy, and stocky dragon that is generally friendly and sociable! All Tatsumi have silky tails that are similar to horses' tails. They also have short, stocky legs with hooves. These traits of a Tatsuma give it its name, which is a combination of "dragon" and "horse" in Japanese! In Japanese, "tatsu" means dragon and "uma" means horse; combined, "tatsu" and "uma" create "tatsuma"!* In addition, Tatsumi generally have pointed horns on their body, but sometimes- in very rare cases- one can even have antlers! A Tatsuma always has eight eyes on its head. When a Tatsuma puts its head in tall grass while hunting, the eyes on the Tatsuma's muzzle can help it find small prey- like mice and rabbits- hiding in the grass!

✰ How they hunt

Tatsumi are carnivores. Their incredible eyesight helps with hunting! They either hunt in shallow water or in tall grass. To hunt, a Tatsuma will use its long muzzle and dip it under water or in tall grass. It will stand very still and wait for prey to approach, which it sees with its six eyes on its muzzle. When prey approaches, the Tatsuma will quickly snatch the prey up with its large mouth.

Tatsumi eat small animals and fish. They can be found eating fish, crabs, bugs, small rodents, and birds.

Tatsumi live on a world parallel to earth! Their world is not inhabited by humans- it is filled with wildlife! Tatsumi can be found living in cooler climates of the world- their long fur helps them keep warm! They live in forests and near bodies of water where they can hunt fish.

Tatsumi live in dens dug under trees or fallen logs. They can even live in caves!

Under the picture of the Tatsuma on this page, there will be tiny images of other Tatsumi below it! Click the Tatsuma that you want to adopt and see if it is up for adoption. If it is up for adoption, follow the artist's instructions on how to adopt it! You may need to fill out a form or make a piece of artwork to adopt it!

If the artist search is open, then yes, you can!

✰ Can I get a custom?
If custom slots are open, you can!

✰ I never seem to win a Tatsuma. How do I win one?
Don't be upset if you don't win a Tatsuma! There will be many other chances to win one <3 ! Make sure to check out the adoptables often- there may be a first-come-first-serve Tatsuma up for adoption! Also, check to see if the custom slots are open! Maybe you can get a custom Tatsuma!

✰ Can I make/color my own Tatsuma?
If you're not an artist for the Tatsuma adoptables, then no, you cannot. This is a closed species, meaning artists can only make Tatsumi! But you can adopt a Tatsuma or place a custom order if slots are open!
