Theo sighed softly as the artificial gravity came back online. There was just enough time to get to a secured reentry point and strap in. The Zodiac wasn't meant to reenter atmosphere whole. It had been shuttled into space module by module and assembled in zero Gs. Whole sections could be ripped off. There was no time to reevaluate their decent. The planet loomed in every window. There was no turning back now. Bright orange rippled across the main view port. "Stead as she goes" he muttered to the pilot. She was doing a marvelous job. The bright orange turned into blue and white and engulfed the craft as they started their reentry. Warning alarms blared from every console. It was too late to make any adjustments. The ship shook as they screamed across the alien sky.

InfectedHau wrote:"Oh, calm down, ya big baby," Wesley said, pushing off of the wall and floating over to Nick, effectively body-slamming him into the opposite wall. It probably hurt, but there wasn't really any other way to stop him from spinning. He was out in the middle of the room, away from anything Wesley could have used to brace herself with, so attempting to grab him would have just sucked her into his spin as well. "Didn't you do zero-g training before we launched? Don't flail around like that, it only makes it worse. Getting off of her fellow engineer, Wesley grabbed onto the lip of a missing wall panel, taking a moment to examine their handiwork. All in all, it could've been a lot worse. The structural damage was still pretty severe, they'd need a fully stocked drydock to get it back in shape, but most of the systems damage had been repaired. If it hadn't been for the power issues, they might have been able to land smoothly. "I'm going to head down to the reactor," she said, "see if we can't do anything about-" the engineer stopped suddnely, turning a faint shade of green as rather strange sensations began emanating from her stomach. "Oh god," she said, her voice strained from trying to keep her lunch down, "bad sandwich. Bad sandwich." Again, she pushed off the wall, trying to reach the small lavatory located just inside the entrance to the Taurus sector. She almost tore open the door, and pulled herself inside, just as she became unable to contain it. A series of unprintably disgusting retching noises emanated from the small room, and a few seconds later, Wesley emerged, still a faint shade of green, looking understandably worn out. "Don't go in there," she said, sliding the door shut behind her, "and don't open the door. Also, toss that stupid sandwich into the engines."

Nick inhaled sharply as he was hurled into the nearest wall. He grasps the back of his head, wincing noticably. Nicholas scoffs, seeming offended. "of course Ive had training, I just-" he pauses, "forgot. " he replies with a defeated huff. Frost cocks a brow as his fellow engineer begins to turn a greenish color before hurrying into the other room. As she re-enters he chuckles at her," uh huh. " he replies with a slight roll of his eyes.

Much to his relief moments after the anti gravity came back online, causing Frost to abruptly fall into his feet. He was about to release a sigh of relief, but was interrupted by the sudden roar from the outside of the ship as it raced towards the planet, causing the engiineer to become flustered. Quickly moving to the nearet safety trailing he braces for impact.

ALEC

And just like that, the fun was over, and it was time to start calculating the probability of everyone dying. ...Very high. 83.62%, in fact. For the first time in his existence, Alec felt like he might understand the human emotion fear. The temperature sensors on the ship's hull were going insane, the point of impact was getting closer and closer, the ship would almost certainly be ripped apart, and there wasn't a thing in the world he could do about it. Alec didn't even want to consider their chances -12.82%- of landing in water- the damage to the ship would cause it to be completely flooded, including his not waterproof processing core. All those death jokes he'd made didn't seem so funny anymore.
August

And just like that, the torture was over, just in time for him to witness their descent into hell. August only barely managed to strap himself down before the extra G's took effect, sending the objects around him crashing down like some apocalyptic rainstorm. His mechanical limbs thrummed with the Zodiac's vibrations, and he could only hope that they wouldn't break. A book whacked him in the face on its way down, and he flinched, suddenly sure that he was going to die. I'm sorry I wasn't a better brother. I'm sorry I fought with that one engineer guy. I'm sorry I didn't throw away that sandwich after I took mold samples. I'm sorry I faked the flu to get out of PE in freshman year. Actually I'm not, but YOU GET THE POINT GOD PLEASE HAVE MERCY UPON MY MORTAL SOUL!!!
Artemis

And just like that, the chemicals were no longer floating in the air like tiny bombs, and neither was Artemis, and oh god was that sulfuric acid why was there sulfuric acid on the floor dammit that was her favorite lab coat. On a positive note, she probably wouldn't be blamed for the chemical explosion anymore. On a not-so-positive note, that would be because most of the other chemicals were now pooled in a corner of the chem lab, one step away from causing another explosion. Artemis swore and tossed her ruined lab coat onto an overturned stool.
Later on Artemis would regret thinking that an empty quarantine chamber was a good place to wait out reentry.

"Shield integrity at seventy-five percent and dropping!" Wesley stated, clawing her way over to one of the few intact consoles as Minerva skittered into the room, straining against the pull of gravity. "We've got maybe five minutes before we start losing sections!"

"Shorter than that, probably," Minerva said, her voice oddly calm despite the dire situation. "By my calculations, the chances of you all not dying a violent crashy death are approximately 83.62-"

"Never tell me the odds!" Wesley said, cutting her off, "Especially when they involve me dying!" Her hands flew across the console, straining against the violent g-forces threatening to smush her against the floor, rerouting power from the engines into the shields. Gravity had taken over now, they didn't need propulsion. "I'm giving her all she's got, captain!" she said into her compiece, "it's up to luck now! Tell everyone to brace for impact!" Probably unnecessary at this point, but still a good idea. Following her own advice, Wesley crawled her way over to the wall, clipping herself in to one of the built-in safety railings. After that, there wasn't much to do but try not to black out.

Rikimaru

Postby ☪ℓυηαя∂яσρ☪ » Fri Jun 24, 2016 11:40 pm

Rikimaru was thankful for the return of gravity, they stood up and brushed their coat off. After checking Monty was alright, they snapped their fingers for him to follow. The little corgi followed happily, right at his master's feet. Rikimaru strode quickly to the barracks and opened the door. Thankfully most everything was intact here. They walked up to the beds and removed the blankets. Whistling for Monty to come, they wrapped the little corgi in a mass of blankets. After he was wrapped up enough to keep him safe in the upcoming crash, they set off and began to surround themselves in mattresses and blankets, holding Monty protectively as they waited for them to crash.

Theo squeezed his eyes shut. He had crashed his fighter jet before. He had witnessed battles. He had witnessed his friends caught in the blast of improvised explosives, but he had never felt as close to death as he did now. The sharp ping of parts being sheared from the craft made him sweat. In a few short seconds, they breached the mesosphere. Theo didn't believe in gods but he prayed his hardest that those AI had gotten all the trajectories perfect, or they would slam into the alien soil and vaporize; all of them.

ALEC

...Three. ...Two. ...One. Impact. The Zodiac slammed into the alien soil at a velocity that could form craters and wipe out all life in its immediate radius, skidding over the ground at impossibly high speeds. Alec and the other AIs had managed to avoid water. They had managed to hit the earth at an angle that wouldn't obliterate the craft. Hell, they'd even managed to avoid the nearest mountain range. But as the ship tumbled over its own lost parts, battering its exterior and doing who-knows-what to its interior, Alec was forced to admit that it could have gone better. Most of the crew wouldn't make it out of the wreckage alive, that much was certain. And as the Zodiac slowed and came to a gradual stop, part of him wondered if his jokes and sarcastic comments had gotten in the way of him working at full capacity. The other part of him took control of the damaged speakers, broadcasting a message to the crew.
"Welcome to your destination, and thank you for flying Andromeda Airlines! Please stay seated until the seatbelt light goes off, and be careful not to forget your belongings! Also, please ignore the dead bodies of your fellow crewmates; that's just standard procedure."

When all the shaking stopped, Wesley unclipped herself from the railing, collapsing in an exhausted heap on what had once been the ceiling, but which gravity had made the floor. "Damage report," she mumbled, unable to muster the strength to move.

"Uh, we crashed, boss," Minerva said, projecting an image of herself looking down sternly at her creator. "Pretty much everything is damaged. I don't even thing the diagnostic systems are working. It'll be a miracle if we can get this thing flying again."

Wesley sighed, despair keeping her down as much as exhaustion. She'd spent almost her whole career on this ship, building it as well as serving aboard it. It was her baby. Nobody else knew it like she did. She could diagnose a problem in the power conduits based on the vibration of the hull. And now it was in pieces. Scattered across who knew how long a stretch. How was she going to save it now?

As ALEC's voice resonated throughout the ship, Wesley figured she'd better get up to the bridge to report on the situation. Gloom hovering around her like a storm cloud, Wesley heaved herself upright, limped to the door, and began making her way to where the bridge should be, leaving Minerva to check on her comrade.

"Hey, Frosty," the AI said, looking around for Nicholas' body, "You still alive?"

Rikimaru and Montague

Postby ☪ℓυηαя∂яσρ☪ » Sun Jul 03, 2016 7:24 am

Rikimaru stood up, rubbing their bumped head, and unwrapped Monty. The little corgi barked at them happily, and Rikimaru sighed in relief at his survival. "Good boy." They spoke softly, smiling at him and patting his head.
Struggling to a standing position, Rikimaru slowly brought themself to their feet and brought their hand away from their head. It had some red on it. Lovely. Putting their hand back to the injured area they stumbled to the nearest window. Despite them all being broken they were still able to be seen through. After a moment of staring outside into what they hoped had breathable air, they decided the best course of action would be to get to the bridge. Whistling curtly to Monty, they began stumbling through the dark towards the bridge.

(Tagging: Alyssa.)
The crash could have been worse, but it wasn't the smoothest landing he'd ever had either. Theo was disorientated but aware enough to know they had landed, more or less, safely. He checked his vitals, making sure the abrupt landing hadn't sent him into shock. He was simply shaken. An elevated heart rate was to be expected. He glanced at the readouts. Many of the terminals and displays had been cracked or were completely offline. Nothing indicated immediate explosions, or toxic fumes, though. Still, it would be safer to evacuate the surviving crew with whatever emergency supplies were still intact. He first checked Alyssa, the pilot. She hung limply in her restraints. He felt for a pulse.
