"I can't do mice," Adderpaw murmured, watching the other tom creep forward.

Dewpaw pounced on his prey, snapping its neck quickly. "Why not?"

"I don't have very great eyes," Adderpaw meowed quietly, embarrassed. Dewpaw had been so skilled in his attack.

"You dont need eyesight to hunt a mouse. Scent and hearing is what I use most. Ill show you." Dewpaw suggested, glad that he could be useful for something. He wasnt good at hunting birds or fighting, but hunting mice was easy for him.

Paw looked over the fence, keeping her from going into the forest. ''Today's the day I do it!'' She said to herself. She dug her claws into the wood and climbed up. She was finally at the tap. She jumped off the top of the fence and looked at the forest. She started to wander into the forest, into the territory of the clan.

"O-okay," Adderpaw meowed, giving a little smile.

Then, Paw remembered the cat who lived near her. She went over to the house, and yelled ''HEY BLAZE, WANNA GO IN THE FOREST?''

Blaze spotted Paw underneath her window. She hopped down from her perch and bounded towards the younger she-cat. "Yeah!" she meowed.

Dewpaw smiled. He padded around a bit, and when he scented a mouse nearby, sat down. "Smell something?"

"I know what mouse smells like," Adderpaw meowed, shrugging. "Yes, it's there."

Dewpaw nodded. "I was proving a point. Now crouch until you hear scuffling. Light on your toes." He dropped into a crouch.
