At the sudden change, Rabbitfur's attention snapped to the tom and he felt his fur begin to stand on end. Despite his warning look, he opened his jaws to argue. But he called Stripestar over and, judging by how the tabby tom approached them, he clamped his jaws shut. Standing beneath two cats ranking much higher than him began making the tom feel extremely out of place. But he dipped his head in respectful greeting towards Stripestarr, his ears going back in submission.

"Not much use~I'll be a warrior soon," Adderpaw meowed, shrugging.

Dewpaw just sighed. "Well then I cant help you." He shrugged as well.

Adderpaw laid down, frowning. "Yeah," he murmured.

Dewpaw cleared his throat. "Soo... I've seen you with Stumblepaw a lot lately. Got a crush?" He teased, trying to lighten up the conversation.

Wildflight greeted Stripestar with a dip of his head before speaking. "Rabbitfur and I just returned from checking the borders," He began, his voice steady, "We came to the conclusion that it was an adder that took Mousekit's life. It must have gotten in without notice." The deputy looked at Rabbitfur now to give him to opportunity to add anything more if he wanted. He knew the warrior was upset with his earlier change of decision and so it would not surprise him if he chose to just keep quiet.

"No!" Adderpaw meowed truthfully. "You?" he asked.

"Nah." Dewpaw shrugged. "I dont pay attention to that kinda thing."

"Ah," Adderpaw chuckled. "Oh, but you will!" The tabby apprentice wasn't sure if he liked toms or she-cats just yet, though he'd fine out soon enough.

"Yeah yeah." Dewpaw rolled his eyes, happy that his switch of topics worked. "So that means you have?"
