"Long ago, two brothers, born half-kittypet and half clan cat on their father's side, fled their twoleg's nest for adventure. It was what they had longed for since their mother had told them the tales of their father's clan. How he fought vicious battles, caught bountiful amounts of wild prey, and stopped at nothing to protect his clan. They set out to start a new path. ZephyrClan and HopeClan were born. The two brothers each recruited their own cats, and began their civilizations. Harmony between the two lasted for many generations. But good things often come to end. My mother was a medicine cat, and a great one too. Losing a patient was very rare for her. She fell in love with the HopeClan deputy. At the time medicine cats weren't permitted to have a mate and/or kits. And no cat was allowed to be in a relationship with someone in the other clan. But they were in love. Soon, both clans found out. While ZephyrClan was quite accepting, HopeClan was the opposite. A battle waged. Many were dead over love. They had finally realized what they had done. ZephyrClan had won the battle, and decided to merge the two clans into one. Peace had arrived."

"Ah, there you are! I've been waiting for moons for a new cat
to join our clan. It's always quite exciting. Now, before you
meet the other cats, I believe that it's best that I give you a tour
of our territory. Now, come along!" Nimblestar flicked her
long tail in the direction of the camp. You walk into a small
opening surrounded by thorn and blueberry bushes. Quite a
few dens are featured in the camp. They were cave-like rock
formations covered with leaves and thorns, probably for
protection. At the back of the camp stood a gigantic cherry blossom,
tree with a hole carved out of it. "Welcome home. Oh, I see
you're looking at the tree. That is the leader's den. There
are two nests inside, one for me and my mate." She
walked inside the tree, with you following along. "This
is the largest tree in the whole forest. It's been here
for years, and we have no idea how in the world it got here. Just what
a cat needs. Plenty of space, a small place for storing prey,
and shelves for all of my personal belongings." You look at
the shelves, carved neatly out of the tree. "Now, if we look up, there is a feather,
hanging from the ceiling by some cobweb. A hawk's. We use
this feather in all ceremonies. It symbolizes giving a hawk's
strength and bravery to the cat." Nimblestar walked out of the
tree and sat. "As you can see, one of the streams from the
Great River flows into the camp. We picked this spot so we
don't have to go all the way to the river to fetch water.
There are two entrances to the camp, both identical. One
is on the northern end, and the other on the southern. Now,
follow me, I'll show you the rest of the territory." You
follow her out of the camp and into the forest. It was a sunny
day, and the birds were quietly singing. You walk for a little
bit, and finally hear the sounds of rushing water. "This is the
Great River, the source of water for the clan. Our kits,
queens, and elders are forbidden to go near it unless it is a
dire emergency, due to the current being so strong that it
could easily sweep a weak cat downstream. Apprentices are
only allowed to cross with a warrior. We ZephyrClan cats love to
get our paws wet, so their is a small pond that part of the
river breaks into to your left, called the Mouse Beach. There
, cats can learn how to swim or just relax when they have a
day off. We call it the Mouse Beach because you wouldn't
believe how many mice are there! Oh, almost forgot! Do you
see those trees? The ones with their branches hanging over
the river? Those are the bitterberry trees. We eat the little
red berries that grow off of them. I had a kittypet friend who
told me that twolegs call them cranberries. To get them,
one cat climbs up on top of the tree and shakes the branches.
Then some of our strongest cats will be swimming inside the
river, carrying either baskets woven out of tall grass or bird
nests in their mouths. Since the berries float, they will go
downstream, and the cats will catch them in the baskets.
Pretty smart, don't you think? They are a great source of
vitamins and keep us very healthy. Now, if you follow me, I'll
show you the other parts of the territory." You cross the river
and walk straight until you reach an open field. "Here is the
training field, where mentors teach their apprentices
everything they need to know about fighting. Along the sides
of the field are plenty of herbs, so this is a medicine cat's
dream! The field is able to hold up to seven mentors and
seven apprentices. Now, lets head on to the last part of our
tour." Nimblestar guides you past the training field and into a
secluded part of the territory. A cave stands there. She leads
you into the dark, rocky tunnel. Once you reach the end, you
see a large glowing pond. "This is the Starpond, where
leaders and medicine cats can talk to StarClan. Well,
this concludes our tour. You must be hungry! Lets get you back to camp."
